Hey, you know that reformatting every time something goes wrong with your computer can get really annoying really fast.

Just cause you're an Ubuntu user and you can overhaul your comp every 6 months with little issue doesn't mean it's the solution for everything.

It's mentality like this that makes me hate Geek Squad on a daily basis.

using regedit, check the contents of the registry key at HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentV ersion\Run .. the items should be the same as what you see under msconfigs startup, but check anyway.

try giving us a process list or a hijackthis log after rebooting or something.

Unless he ever imaged his hard drive, that's not necessarily so.

You do know how long it takes to reinstall programs when they're not all coming from a central repository, right?

So I fixed it, I formatted, reinstalled and a good friend gave me a damn good serial number (I didnt even know they released SP3!)
But now I seem to be having problems with avgfree8


Has anyone had similar problems with install?

use the 60 gig as boot drive

use the 500 gig for porn and serato
