egyptian magicks?










Richard Alpert doesn't age... i've heard speculation that he might be a reincarnation of the egyptian god RA, (R.ichard A.lpert)

but I don't see a reborn god following any rulers of island or "jacob"


There were hyroglyphs in the smoke monsters lair, but they didnt look egyptian per se...

The glyphs in the temple were a mixture of Sumerian and Egyptian scribes.

The writings on the wall were definitely Sumerian in nature...


Meanwhile the picto-glyph was definitely Egyptian as it depicted Anubis the Egyptian Gatekeeper of the Underworld commanding the monster.



The Sumerian/Mesopotamian link is only strengthened by the fact that the exit portal of the island is located in Tunisia.

BTW - My theory on why Richard doesn't age - He was dead on the Black Rock and was "John Locke'd" when they crashed or rather "transported" onto the Island.

Thus, Alpert, Christian, and Locke are all connected.

My guess is that Alpert is from the future and when you get sent back in time you don't age until you catch up to yourself...

I think the fact that Alpert wears eyeliner is a hint of his origins.

Ancient Egyptians and Mesopotamians used to line their eyes with kohl. Sawyer is the first one to actually mention the eyeliner on Alpert, I think the writers are definitely starting to drop some hints.

It's been clarified that Nestor's eye's actually look like that, and he doesn't actually wear any eyeliner. However, they are definitely playing it up to point people in a certain direction.

Maybe Richard went back in time and the original inhabitants built it in his honor? The last episode was pretty good. I can't believe they killed off Daniel Faraday, he was awesome. The next episode "Follow the Leader" looks great. All hell breaks loose.

Also many Egyptian deities are represented with 4 toes.
