I remember a few years back I did a review of the top grossing movies of the 5 years previous, and I found of the 5/25 that weren't adaptations/reinterpretations/sequels/prequels, 3 were Pixar.

They have yet to let me down. I've enjoyed everything they've put out.

it was just so amazing what they can do with movies theses days, and it's nice to not have the same type of action/comedy/horror shit that hollywood seems to be putting out these days.

3-d movies are one of the few things that will bring me out to the theater these days.

just not worth it unless its a fantastic movie or has something extra like 3-d. my home theater is good enough for the rest.

yea, I hate sitting in theatre seats for a whole movie. I was not comfortable at all. I enjoy watching movies on my couch.

but I can't do 3D at home.

3D is going to become more common than you'd expect. It's the "new" "colour". There are currently 2 productions here in Van that are shooting for 3D.

I've been keeping my glasses in the hopes that the streaming sites will start to screen shows in their 3D format (Coraline, Up, etc...)

Yes, Pixar _IS_ quality.

Do yourself a favour and sniff around for some of Pixar's more obscure short flicks that they've popped out, here and there over the years! They are succinct in their character development, and absolutely hilarious!!!! (rabbit in the hat one comes to mind)

The character development in "UP" was excellent. The comedic timing was superb. The director did an amazing job w/ a finely crafted script. But, bottom line? What they could do w/ 2D cgi to create a 3D experience on the screen was simply jaw-droppingly astounding!!!
And, you know? It's nice to see that a company will take the time to come up w/ a good script, before committing to production. Unlike so much other drivel where the producers are hoping all the $$$ getting dumped into the SFX and VFX that the audience wouldn't notice gaping plot holes or incongruities.

I'll be taking the family to see it, while they're here, visiting, so, if you'd like to tag along, let me know, and I'll ring you when we're going (sorta saving it for a rain-day)
