It was pretty good... I don't like Michael Moore(sp?), he's fucking pushy and annoying and he edits the footage in the film alot so that it complements his point better. The reason I really don't like him though is because of his oscar speech when he denounced Bush. I mean I don't support Bush, but for fucks sake Moore have some fucking class and dont badmouth him at the oscars! All he did was make himself look bad.
I thought the best part of the documentary was the Marilyn Manson interview; even though I don't like Manson's music and image, I've got alot more respect for him after the interview... |

personally, I think it shows alot of guts to do something like that. |

i thought the movie was good, i've watched it a couple of times now... and i agree on the marilyn manson part, i think his image denounces his intelligence a bit, but i guess that goes for a lot of people. agh, that works in reverse too...
as for the oscar thing, there is nothing wrong about voicing your opinion about Bush in front of many people, but the Oscars are just not the time and place to do it... i dunno, i didn't think it was very appropriate but, mueh. O.o Michael Moore is going to be at the Jazzfest on June 25th, or so it says so in the guide... at the Tom Lee music Hall on granville from 2-4. I would like to go, if i have time... -anya |

Theres alot wrong with it and I thought it was really childish, irresponsible and unclassy of Michael Moore. It's got nothing to do with guts. |

Also, It takes guts to do something like that, because he basically jepordized his career on that 1 minute speech. Do you think Mr. Moore is not intelligent enough to comprehend the consequences of his actions? I am sure that many people in his situation would not do anything close to what he did. Sure i agree that the speech came out of nowhere, but on the other hand, i think that it was an excellent place to drop the speech. Oscars are fucking bribed from one movie to another. It is all through connections. Sure, they catagorized requirements inorder to win the oscars -- but what if some directors where informed of these catagories in advance? IT IS ALL POLITICAL. So what more? Mr. Moores speech was a slap across the face of many people sleeping out there (maybe not YOU in particular). Also, something else i took out from his message was that he didn't give a shit about the Oscar... he was holding it like a fuckin toy!! this shows that OSCAR is not everything some are worried about. In Iraq (at the moment) children are being bombed by the US... while the Americans are watching the Oscars. Life, liberty, Justice, Freedom, truth......or oscars? R35P3C7 |

You must also remember that when he made that speech on stage, he was with all of the other nominees. He asked them as he went on stage if they would join him as he denounces Bush in front of millions, and they did. The man knows what he is doing. It was the perfect platform to get the attention of oh so many people who would have never even given Bowling for Columbine a second look...
And the "Brief History of America" by Matt Stone and Trey Parker was the greatest... |

you think it doesn't show guts to denounce america's president in front of millions and millions of people on public television??? maybe it shows a certain lack of tact, but whatever. I have alot of respect for michael moore. He's blunt and to the point. We need more people like that. It may come across as being an asshole, but that's usually cos he hit a sensitive issue right on the head, and no one wants to acknowledge it. The oscars are just another cheap awards ceremony anyways. If it gives you the oppourtunity to address millions of people at the same time, then why not use it to express political views? Think it's more productive just to go up there and say the normal "bla bla bla this is such an honor I'd like to thank (insert list of people to suck up to here)"? |

Oh it WAS by Trey and Matt :P that explains the presicion timing of many many really blunt points, saying it like it is one after the other after the other. Those boys are good at that :) |
