I really can't see this even making a dent in the today industry. To a be a success you need multi-billion dollars for develop and market a console. Let alone get support from developers, and establish a name for yourself. You have to be price competive so that usually means you will lose money for the first little while, and if you don't have a strong backing you will probably close up shop. Let alone the fact this box is just a PC in a pretty box more appropriate for the living room. Games will never be optimized to the extent that they are with consoles.

As for the discover console I think it has a better chance of suceeding than the Phantom does. First of all the Discover has backing from AMD and from Alienware and Alienware knows gaming machines. Personally if I could buy a machine for about $400 bones and use it to play PC games on my TV I'd do it in a heart beat. I mean I really don't care that much about perfect graphics to care if its not completely optimised on this sort of system. I mean I guess all the graphics whores might not like it but for the average gamer I bet the convenience of putting a PC game in the drive and playing it almost immediately is definitely a plus point for the system.

Besides, it also got the prestigious 'TECH TV Best of CES 2004 Award' HAHAHAHAHAHA...... tech tv is ass........
