the almighty bug in Halo 2 ITS FUNNEY here's how to do it.
So being a game tester for a year and a half I start to play games to find issues in them and working a night shift with a co-worker I was able to find a sweet bug that can be reproduced 100% of the time.. here's what to do:
Play a 2 player co-operative, when you get to the first convenant mission where you have to destroy the elite with the 2 clones.. there's a part in one of the elevators (i think its the first one) Get one player to stand in the elevator and press the button to start going down.. The other player hit the elevator button so the lift returns.. Then hit the elevator button again and instead of dropping down, the lift will make you go up into a massive clip where you will see the orange sky, the elevator platform and that's all. When you hit this part, the only thing you can do is fall off and die (losing your weapons). Enjoy this issue that was missed (5 years of testing a game you'd think they'd clean out all major issues HAAHAHAHAHAHA) |

5 years of game testing? the game wasnt even "finished" till like 3 months ago. But whether or not the game is actually complete is a whole nother issue entirely. My major issue with the game, and pet bug, is that half the cutscenes begin playing while the box is still building them. Oh yeah, that and the ending... WTF?

each project has a cycle.
the have milestones, alpha, beta, final then store a project cycle can be anywhere from 3months to 5 years (ie: halo2) yes, the mapping in the game was terrible.. but its something that can be easily overlooked. |

i know about the dev process. game programming is what i want to do with my life, and i'm halfway there.
But if you watch the special edition's dvd, they break the the game's timeline down. it was more or less developed in 24 months or some shit like that. No where near 5 years. |
