Nintendo DS

Just picked up my Nintendo DS. It's pretty sweet... backwards compatible, two backlit screens, stereo sound, wireless multiplayer.

Superstore has a deal: $229 for the system and Mario 64 DS. Mario 64 DS, is a excellent game, I was worried about a small screen for a 3d game such as mario is, but it works pretty well.

ds seems cool but im not so down, looks ugly and ill stick with my sp since i only use it like once every month at most. i have more interest in the psp.

Just like how nintendo came out first and than Sony Dominated them. I have a feeling the psp will be the same with the DS.

DS is just so chunky I don't like it.

definatly to only to some extent. if they come out with crap then u cant give credit if it indeed doesn't deserve any. just cause ur the originater doens't mean that u should get credit regardless however obviously opinions on it being crap or not is different from person to person. i still like nintendo in many ways as they offer things that xbox and ps2 dont but my take on the ds is its shit. just my 2 cents

NOBODY has been able to compete in the handheld market with Nintendo (Sega almost had a chance with Game Gear), and quite frankly, original nintendo decks STILL WORK. N64s: Still work at full power
Gamecubes: I don't care what anybody says about their little case-modded computers they call "XBox" or "PS2", but the Gamecube has the nicest hardware, bar none. It integrates with the Game Boy Advance and requires smaller discs. It's built like a toy, and as such breaks down FAR FAR FAR less than either the PS2 or the XBox.

If Nintendo knows one thing, it's how to make toys.

the ds will be just as good as the psp,
ds=n64 graphics
psp= just under playstation graphics

psp will have better games for sure, but im gona buy the DS just for Final fantasy chronicals :)

As far as comparing it to the PSP. They are two completly diffrent things. The DS is more toward giving gamers a experiance they wouldn't have on a console. The Playstation is basically making a powerful console portable. It all depends on what you want.

Personally, I like the way the ds is going, however, I will be picking up a PSP march 12th as well.

Actually the PSP is much better as far as graphics are concerned. The PSP is pretty much equal to the PS2, while the DS rates somewhere between the N64 and PSone.

aside xbox's halo (which seems to be their only worthy game), only nintendo has dignified signature games - super mario, donkey kong, mario cart, link, smash brothers, etc.

nintendo was also the first to come out with the best rpg's. i'm sure people have to agree there.

NES was the first system to break ground in the common household. Obviously Atari and Intel were a massive step in video gaming, but hardly comparable to the amount and movement NES made. Next time check your argument in the thread listing because im not here to debate.
