Jim Carrey constantly amazes me. When you consider the ace venturer days. Very few really comedians have the ability to take a role like this and make it work. Robin Williams is another fantastic actor. Enternal Sunshine of a spotless Mind touched a very tough spot in me. It's sad but happy!

really, kate winslet won an oscar for it, and i think she deserved it.
she was so amazing in that movie.

cinematography
directing
best actor

i mean what the fuck. i didn't see ANY films this year that rivaled this movie in artistic direction. it was amazing.

I've never seen Million Dollar Baby, but I'm guessing it looks like a big pile of poo compared to Eternal Sunshine.

Whatever, the Oscars are just a big Hollywood wank anyways. We know what the best movies were.

Kate Winslet didn't win an Oscar for it.

Best Actress was Hilary Swank. Supporting Actress, Cate Blanchett.

The only Eternal Sunshine won was Best Original Screenplay.

I think it deserved more, but I can't compare since I haven't seen The Aviator nor Million Dollar Baby. I hate Leonardo DiCaprio.

^yeah, it was hilary swank not kate winslet.

the oscars have hardly ever picked an experimental type of film for lots of nominations. the weirdest nomination for best picture in the last few years was probably The Sixth Sense...usually the Best Picture movies are really just the Best Commerical Movie.

Really? I find that noncommercial movies usually win Best Picture. Chicago wasn't big until after the Oscars, same with Million Dollar Baby. I don't think these movies reached number 1 before their Oscar wins (if they ever did reach number 1). The only box office hit Oscar winner I can think of(off the top of my head) is Return of the King.
