this movie was good. not as good as the first one, but good. i just think the first movie had more style and direction than the sequel. they got a new director for the second movie, which probably contributed to that. i wish they had kept the same director.

pretty creepy. there are many jumpy and tense moments, but i didn't feel that the movie built up the same suspense as the first one did. the first movie was a master at building up a scene so that you were shit scared even when not that much was happening.

the story was actually pretty good. it wasn't a very complicated plot line and therefore didn't fall into the trap that many sequels fall into where their storylines get jumbled up and confused because they're trying to add a hundred million plot twists that just end up confusing the audience. there were some holes in the story, but not enough to make you go 'well, shit, THAT didn't make sense'.

You know... that's the crazy thing. I can't explain why. The first one just made my blood boil, I hated it so much. I even watched it a second time with the same result. Gave the sequal a chance and still had the same outcome.

This may make me come off as having no imagination, but I just think the whole movie that kills" thing is lame. The "scary little girl" theme has been played to death as well.

I was laughing my ass of the whole time the Bucks were attacking the car. Someone yelled out "Rhoudoff(sp?) is PISSED!" during the scene, and I normally fuckin hate people that say dumbass things during certain scenes, but I laughed so hard after hearing that one.

I thought this movie was disappointing. Not as scary (except for the creepy well scene), more cheesy, more cliché. Good performances though. Plus directing-wise, I liked the basement scene where the camera "chased" the lightbulbs.

That's strange.

I really enjoyed The Ring (saw it well after having seen the original Ringu and Ringu II).. one of the things I liked the most about it was that the lead characters weren't altogether likeable. Naomi Watts played this particularly well.. her character is superficial, pushy, seemingly has a weak emotional connection with her son... I found this gave the movie far more depth and edge than your average horror film with a saintly heroine.

Definately not as creepy as the first one. On the first one, we had multiple sub-plots dancing around the main plot to enforce it. And most importantly, the first one was original.

The sequel was directed by the original maker of the
Japanese version of Ringu > Hideo Nakata (who had given side direction to the first movie, The Ring.

I think we are all so brainwashed by the "Hollywood" drama, maybe it's hard to accept other personalities in film making.

I've watch the original Ringu in Japanese, and let's just say that the Ring doesn't do it justice, same with the Grudge.

I havn't watched it yet but I have seen ringu 1 and 2 and they both sucked ass. le circle 1 sucked too and im pretty sure this one aint any better. horror movies are just to hard to make good. I mean in the lets say past 5 years can you even name 5 horror flicks that were actually a dope movie will killer suspense etc... there are a few that come to mind but most of them are pretty bad.
