A documentary looking at the birth or corporations and the roles they've taken in social and international development.

Highlights touched upon:

- A corporation is a group of people, a company, granted the legal rights of an individual minus the moral and social responsibility.

- How a corporations ideas, looked upon as if a person, can be compared to psychopathic behaviour.

This movie isn't extreme. It's not a Michael Moore, "In your face approach". It's just information loaded and down right scary.

Two powerful thumbs up.

Yeah, i saw the Corporation at UBC with Alex and Shadi a while ago, and on TV again recently. i thought it was quite good, and some of the things that the CEOs said were refreshing (especially the guy who ran the carpet-making business.)

i just saw this at blockbuster today. was gonna rent it, but figured i'd check if it's decent at all, because i didn't wanna end up with one of those tin foil specials. but i'm definetely gonna check it out now.

Totally unrelated note: when i was 18, some girlfriends and i wanted to rent some porn, so we went to Blockbuster. we looked around for a good ten minutes before we realized that it didn't have a porn section. the clerk told us that Blockbuster was owned by Disney and didn't carry any pornographic materials.

diva: as a guy i knew that rogers video has the porn section. but that's what tom's video is for.

ff: i actually just got the membership today, i was early to work and there's a blockbuster across the street. normally i rent from toms video or online but i broke down today. however all the good unedited indie movies i wanna see don't exist at blockbuster, so unless they start handing out free heejays i doubt they'll see that much business from me.

Hah! Well, nothing wrong with convenience sometimes.

I myself am loyal to Applause Video's (yes, they have that misplaced apostrophe on their sign out front) over on commercial. Sweet selection of older/indie films, and the guys who work there are super cool (knock my fines down all the time!)
