Gamecube Appreciation Thread
Well it ain't the most popular concel, but it's definetly the most odd. Like wtf is up with the controller? So it has the second best graphics, some very intersting games, and did I mention cheap!!!! I bought mine about a year and a half ago and it cost me $100. I got it from a pawn shop and it came with 2 controllers, memory card and 3 games. I'm not the most hardcore of gamers but I have become a bit more interested in games since my mid teens. Ok, alot more interested. I do wish though I owned an Xbox. I tried The new Mech game at EB, fuckin bollox. Gamecube does Rock, go Mario Sunshine!!!!

gamecube sucks
my brother got one, played it quite a bit at the start. had some tony hawks n mortal kombat. it has some good games but nothing compared to playstation or xbox. nobody uses it anymore, he finally realized that ps2 is the best after so many years praising nintendo. xbox is good too easy solution if youre torn between consoles-- buy them all.

Personally i am a PS2 fan but i wont start saying that xbox and gamecube suck. All 3 offer some good things. Some more then others. Overall Gamecube is probably the worst out of the 3. However Gamecube does offer those kids type of games and their line of mario multiplayer games are fun times. The mario party series for one is prety fun when you got 3 other friends. As an everyday console Gamecube is definatly not the way to go. This is where xbox and PS2 take over among other things. I am very tired of people saying that xbox is the better system because the specs of the system is way better and graphics are way better then PS2. Yes graphics are better, specs are better but did we all forget that it came out after ps2? Im sure if they both came out at the same time that it would be pretty similiar or if PS2 came out it would be the other way around. PS2 is great for 3rd person games however xbox might have a better line of 1st person. It all comes down to your gaming needs. iono go PS2!

Back when I worked as a clerk in the electronics department at superstore, we kept seeing PS2s and XBoxes come back like hotcakes because they didn't work for some reason or another. I think I saw 2 gamecubes come back. And it wasn't that they weren't selling... it was actually right at the height of their popularity that I was working, and we kept selling out of them, straight through Christmas.
Durable, reliable, built like a toy. That's what Nintendo has always done, not these casemodded computers and dvd players Microsoft and Sony are trying to sell us. These are toys. Interfaces with other toys. Ever played Splinter Cell with a GBA attached? As a result, it has a lot of more childlike titles. Every once in a while there's a more adult title making it through, but on the most part Nintendo is keeping to more family programming. That's cool. Even PBS has a good TV show every once in a while ("It's cold outsiiiiide....."). It's also stupidly cheap. Which means you're buying a console for the next decade at least. No re-hashes (except for paint jobs, really) necessary. Don't have to wait for the ones that don't overheat. Fastest loading. Gamecube has best hardware (sans hard drive). Hands down. They're just so goddamn picky about their titles.

i think hands down (BREATHE IN FOR LUCK, BREATHE IN SO DEEP) the gamecube has the most games which are just plain fun to play. a lot of games by nintendo emphasize more on gameplay than graphics, but in the end i think gameplay is all that really matters anyways.

I have to agree with rawb on this one.
I have a gamecube, a ps2, a pretty decent gaming comp and my roomate has an xbox. All 3 systems plus my comp have their advantages, the only haters in this thread are the ones that don't have all three systems.

yes, some of your points are right, but seriously, to flat out say that the subject of the topic "sucks" is considered trolling in my eyes. in case you dont know what trolling means, allow me to explain to you: trolling is when the OP (original poster) states his opinion of X, and then the troll deliberately adopts the opinion of -X IF and only if the thread had been titled as "hey guys lets talk about gamecube", then replies such as "gamecube sucks" would not be considered a trolling comment, simply an opinion. theres my 2 cents on that, oh man, i could write one of these everyday on a different topic. alot of people on fnk clearly dont know how to use forums; which is quite sad, i think "the lounge" is probably the worst when it comes to posting. oh ya, GC is the shit. nintendo has always focused on making party systems, which always equal the most fun. ps: i will own any of you with link in super smash bros.
