The Chronicles of Narnia

Anyone else see the preview for this when they saw Episode III?

This one looks awesome. It's like the children of Harry Potter and the massive armies of Lord of the Rings combined.

I've never read the book, but everyone said the books are amazing. I guess I gotta add them to my reading list.

Definitely a must read.... I remember reading the books and watching the British series based on the books. The movie itself looks absolutely insane.... looking forward to it!

Shit what is turkish delite? It is kind of creepy to remember the ideas in the book because they sort of connect with thoughts and feelings from when i read it as a kid.

yeah, it's weird because when you're a kid and you read something it seems to much different when you think about it when you're older.

did that make sense?

anyway, turkish delights are those candy things that one of the kids in the book really likes to eat. i think the ice queen gives them to the boy to make him like her...or something like that.

oooh yeh the ice queen, yeh i know what you mean though, as a kid i imagined the whole universe in my head and it was probably one of the first full books i ever read. I wish i could have the concentration power i had back then, i'd be a genius. I in engulfed myself in that book.

well I only went for one day/night with my class; from what I remember, it was pretty cool. The land there was pretty amazing, the funniest part of the trip was that one of the goats took a shit on one of the beds in the camp. Nothing like toilet humor when you're a little kid.

yah, the books (and the storyline) were very good when I was 7 or 8, but a lot of theme of the stories is pretty child oriented and I'm not sure how much I'd really enjoy it now... probably go see it anyway though.

That's some advanced reading for a seven year old. I listened to the audio book of the Silmarillion last year and had trouble keeping track of who was who and what was what. Yes, the audio book. Fuck books.

Has anyone looked into the Christian allegory in The Chronicles of Narnia books? I haven't read em but I loved the BBC series' and only found out that it was all related to Christianity in the past few years, so I'm looking forward to re-visting the story and checking this out.

Also Weta Workshop who did all the special effects for the LOTR movies is working on The Chronicles of Narnia which is the part that has me the most excited about it.
