What originally hooked you into the DJing scene?

I originally bought decks with no intention what so ever of 'playing out' - was more than happy to Bedroom Dj until someone heard my compilation album and asked me to play an opening set - and then I was hooked! Such a rush and its great to put smiles on people's face while expressing yourself though music.

What type of music do you specialise in?

I'd like to think of myself as a "specialist generalist" - I enjoy playing all types of music from hip hop to techno and everything in between. My favourite 'genre' would is an amalgamation of electro and breaks - electrobreaks - as long as its filthy and bassy!

Most expensive vinyl that you have paid for? - how much was it?

Not gonna lie here - have never bought Vinyl have played on CDJs all my life.

What is your most treasured record and why?

My favourite track of all time - probably 'No More Conversations' Mylo Remix. Its got a nice dirty bassline/moog combination and the lyrics are simply awesome in the right state of mind. But the biggest reason is because the song has a lot of sentimental value to me. I"ve got 4 different remixes of the track and have even put my own bootleg spin on it.

Have you got any funny/horrific DJing stories?

Yes, quite a list:
- My first ever gig I played "Rock your body rock" by Benni Benassi and when the lyrics came on "you gotta rock you body rock" i pulled down the fader expecting everyone to sing it but i was the only one!
- I've managed to step on an important lead that was set up under the dj table which switched all equipment and speakers off. Took me about a minute to work out what had happened.
- I've burnt all my cds as MP3 without knowing in France and my first gig happened to be on MK2 1000's that don't support MP3! Luckily i had my laptop on me and some spare cds so played an entire gig as well as burnt off a whole new set at the same time!
- First gig in Vancouver I was somehow able to break a cdj800 (not my fault!) which put the party music 'on hold' until a new one was brought over from another place.

What does your DJ name signify?

My full name is Brian Thompson so the B and T kinda work with my initials. Not sure why I choose this name - just came to me one day and I thought it sounded kinda cool and now that I've started producing and 'tweaking' beats it just made sense.
