Deep & Funky Tribal house

Yo,
heres one of my newest productions, deep and funky tribal, with reggae vocal samps, and a nice rollin' bassline. its not the final mix down or mastered, but im just posting it to test the waters with you FNKers. I've already got good feed back from some labels and people all over on this one, so post post a reply and let me know what YOU think,
thanks,

I had a listen the other day. I seem to recall that this track was a house number with lots of percussion and some reggae samples. Well here is my review:
The track starts out nice, I've always liked intros and hate it when I hear a song start with a 4/4 kik and a snare. Right away I noticed that the drums were out of sequence with the snare roll. By this I mean the intro 909 kik into the mix is too loud and doesn't fit with that breaks style snare roll. This could easily be corrected by filtering and fading the kik into the mix, this could be done via reason or hardware sampler (once this is done you have no worries). The percussion is nice and gives the track flavor and I started to groove on the reggae dub for about 1 min. That's when I got bored. I mean some guy saying "ahhh, ooooohhhh" over and over is kool, but when do I hear the real reggae. And thats what the track needs, some ruffneck rasta bustin out original rhyme over the samples (if your white and 150lbs, don't even think about doing it yourself) The track progresses and I think? Well if this is a reggae track where are all the soundboy reggae delay sounds? Yes I mean laser delays, sweeps, filters, and FX. Lastly, I felt the Bass could have been a bit louder, I don't know, I like my speakers thumping with bass. Otherwise, a very good job and I look forward to hearing more. Peace.

Werd,
thanks for the input cant really tell if you like it or not but its good to get feed back, its not really reggae or dub it just reggea/dub influenced house,
kinda goin for the deep vibe rather than dub, as for the vocals i love to get some rasta shit on it but we live in van, the closest thing we have to a rasta is white and 150lbs,
but thanks for the reply!
Peace!!!

I know what your saying, I would keep your eyes open for a Marley look-alike. I like this track a lot, I produce also and I know what I expect from myself and that is what I expect from you. The kik needs to be filtered/faded into the song for sure (intro). The reggae lyricist can come later, work on your fx now. I have some awesome sound that would work for this track. The lexicon vst delay is essential for dub, but a Roland space echo is what the pro's use.
The way I look at music is:
ls this something that I will listen to in 20 years and go, hey that still rocks? Too many producers put out this Reason bullshit techno and it stinks. So thin and digital when you rely on one source.
It's like, I noticed that my stuff sounds good when I use a bit of the good softsynths, but the bass always sounds better when the analog synth is going sub wavey. Good luck.

this thread gets some hits from google when people search for "tribal house". Might want to update the link in the main post.
