The Stumble Home - TheBobman

I still need to tweak the EQing, it's mixed pretty hot, features "Drunk & High at 6am" by and unknown artist. 160kbps MP3 Techy beats with rock guitars overtop.

Not bad. did you sequence all the drum riffs by hand?

- The main bassline needs some EQ'ing
- also, I don't like the percussion that starts at 0:37 (some sort of snare or something)

Nice work tho.. what are you using to sequence?

yeah, the drums are by hand bit by bit
no other real way to do it.
the percussion @ 0:37 is love it or hate it, 'tis true. but it sound PHAT when the bass clicks on a big sub making for a nice drop in.

Thumbs up for the feedback tho, I may start posting my stuff again =D

whoops, i meant the guitar riffs.

so what do you use for drums? Im using Reason 2.5 which is the redrum machine (an 8 channel step sequencer).. I'd switch to Cubase in a second, but.. I dont is because I don't know of any good Drum machine VST's. The Redrum is awesome. I suppose I could rewire into cubase but I'd rather just use 1 program.

I like the guitar/vocal parts. I agree about that first snare sound tho, very ugly, sounds like the high end has been rolled off in an extreme sort of way, or the snares (metal bits) on the drum weren't engaged when it was sampled. Bass is a little resonant for my tastes, needs to sound a little mroe defined. Try some compression as well on that part, might help to get the sound a little tighter.

actually, I just listened to this again, I made the mistake of EQing it on my normal speakers which totally ruins pieces of it, I'll re-EQ-it, should sound better

the guitar samples are from 5 different samples and then just sampled the crap out of them

for my drums there's about 12 samples but then I cut them down to individual hits and kicks and rework it from there.
