definately could stand to have those synthetic rim shots taken out...
don't think I've ever heard one instance where those actually work in a tune, hehehe

aside from that I'm kinda wonderin where the bassline is?

sounds like the tune's fairly empty... what sounds that are there are good... but they don't fill nearly the sonic space needed to keep it interesting and hype... you could easily replace those unhearable sub kicks with a phat bassline and make a CHOON of this

synthetic rim shot? That the cowbell from the TR-808. get it straight. And they ALWAYS work in tunes.

Those are 808 cowbells, and those subs are the bassline respectively, if you heard it on a big stereo they'd sound like massive 808 sub hits. You have to keep in mind that 'Heavyweight' is florida meets nuskool electro, so we tried to use a lot of 808, not to mention 'Third Eye' is way better. I mean waaaaaaay better.

Your right tho, we certainly need to do sumthin with that bell, it sounds really lonely and out of place. Thx for the review tho dood, but seriously... Third Eye is way better, I can't even stress that enough.

when I rip apart tunes on here, it's not because I'm being an ass... I like to give the best feedback I possibly can... it's all objective, not meant to offend, just to instruct with what I've learned over time :)

if nobody ever tells you the truth about your music, how can you expect to improve it?

^i totally agree.

constructive criticism is the best thing for producers. it gives them another perspective on the good and bad, (mainly bad --to improve of course)

[edit] was meant for thanatos :P

third eye sounds phat, but the mixdown regarding the kicks needs work. drums and snare and stuff are excellent, but i feel like that kick is far too loud, and needs to be eq'd, try taking out everything under 60 maybe and use that room for the sub in the bassline. soudning good tho, like the feel of the tune, and i hate breaks these days, so big ups!!!

I've never had any problem with constructive criticism Akeel... When people try to cut down my music for no other reason than the fact they don't like what genre it is, that's when I get mad... That's called being just plain ignorant... If someone takes my tune and rips it apart piece by piece and tells me why some parts work and some don't and gives me advice to fix those parts that don't work, I say "Yes sir! Thank you sir!" and salute real quick-like. ;)
