-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Life@140 - Feb 24th - Open Decks Feb 24 - Night of a Million Trainwrecks Featuring 4-5 Newbie Djs doing 50 minute sets, we give a chance for less experienced djs (Been Spinning for less than 2 years) to show off their developing skills. The DJ judged to do the best job mixing (irregardless of track selection) will win their own 2-hour guest spot on Life @ 140 within 3-to-6 months. Anyone interested please reply in this thread, or email [email protected] or just contact me. Once I have a list of people I'll draw names at random on the air and announce the DJs on our February 3rd show with DJ Klockwize. Good luck to everyone. PS. Those of you sitting on the fence between 2 and 3 years of spinning will just have to be patient; work on your skills and eventually you will be on our show, I promise. But you have to introduce yourselves to us too! Sean AqvaYak For Those of you not familiar with the show, it is the highest rated electronica show in Vancouver, broadcasting on 90.1 FM (93.9 Cable FM) and from www.CJSF.ca every friday from 10pm - 3am (or later). Residents Vlado (Solid Corporation, Blacktiger Recordings), Aqvayak, Caleb Fox (www.BOOMCH.com) and Luke Williams play all genres of fast electronica, focusing mainly on trance and techno. I think we are ok for now ;) There will be another event coming up in a few months near my birthday (march 31th show) called the impaired olympics where we get real djs, good djs, and they either mix really hammered, or without headphones, or blindfolded, or with one hand. Something like that, haha. Deeb will of course be one of our star performers.
