Skinny Jeans

I know I should have made this thread months ago but really this trend doesn't seem to be fading and everywhere I go I still see everyone wearing skinny jeans.

Here's the thing though I only think they look good on very tall and thin girls or girls with long legs or just really thin girls.
I have hips and even at my thinnest I don't think I could have pulled this look off.
What are your guys' thoughts? Have you seen this look pulled off on anyone except the exceptionally tall and thin? Is there a way to make this work if you do have hips and an ass?

I was contemplating going and looking for a pair and I mentioned it to my mom and she was like 'no, no you can't wear them they won't look good' it was pretty harsh but I know she was being honest. I'm not huge by any means but I never wear unflattering clothes or even entertain the thought of wearing something that just doesn't work for my figure.

I'm curvy- definitely have hips and ass for miles..and I'm also about 5'2..but that has never stopped me from wearing skinnys! I'm still a size 2-4, so I'm not big by any means, I've just got a curvy shaped body.

The right pair of skinnys can be extremely flattering to your curves and actually thin you out a bit. You have to find a pair that fits you right. My favorite pair of skinnys came from Banana Republic of all places, if you're petite (meaning you need a short length!) you should check out the top floor of their robson store for jeans

.....

Why don't you just go to the store and try a pair on?

If you look like a chicken then just let it go.

If you find the skinnies too overwhelming, opt for a skinny/slim boot cut instead. I'm in the same boat as Myra with the 5'1, booty thing going on, but I still rock them.

i think they only look good on really skinny girls and guys hah
otherwise i feel they just accentuate the wrong parts and make girls look way bigger or just not as good as theyde look wearing another style of pant

Quick lesson on skinny jeans:

Skinny is referring to the cut of the jean, it won't make you skinny. Please wear accordingly.

I have not tried them on yet.

but I dislike seeing that much of my feet, I wear a slightly wide bootcut, or a small flare.

Yeah I think i'm going to stick to boot cut I WISH I could pull them off but I just don't see it happening.
I tried on a pair months ago at Guess and it wasn't working - unless I get mono in the next couple of months I'll be holding off.

i dont feel extremly comfortable in skinnies either, but i wear them because they work with boots so well. Other jeans (bootcut, straight leg) tend to bunch a bit when you stuff them in your shoes, but straight leg just sits nicely.

^ Yeah I always have to fold my jeans and safety pin them or tuck them into my socks (looks ridiculous) to get them to not bunch up when i'm wearing boots.
Obviously I only do this if I know I'm going somewhere where I don't have to take my shoes off because otherwise it looks really strange.

I'm going to go shopping for a pair of straight leg because I have a pair of Fornarina jeans that are straight leg and they're flattering.
Thanks for the tips you guys

Thank you guys for realizing this. Some people try and pull off the bunchy, crumpled jeans shoved into boots and it looks soooo sloppy. The WORST is when I spot the R&R Madrid's (aka Vicky Beckham crowns) poorly fitted into Uggs. Nothing against the jeans themselves, but they are quite flared, and not the right cut to make this look good. Instead it looks like it does when you can't fit your sleeping bag into its case.
