Thursday April 13th 12:30pm!!

EMERGENCY ACTION TO PROTEST CANADA'S MILITARY OCCUPATION IN AFGHANISTAN!

Join us on Thursday April 13 to protest the ongoing occupation of Afghanistan by Canadian military forces. Yesterday a rocket exploded in a packed schoolyard in Eastern Afghanistan killing 7 children and wounding 34 more people. This is another example of the occupation wreaking havoc on the lives of Afghan people every day as the occupation causes more instability, violence and deaths for Afghan people.

Join MAWO at the protest picket to demand CANADA OUT OF AFGHANISTAN! END THE OCCUPATION NOW! CALL FOR AN INDEPENDENT PUBLIC INQUIRY INTO THE CANADIAN WAR DRIVE!

It's not an occupation when you're working with the Government of the nation you are "occupying" and working on given them soverign power of their own Nation.

:p

Sorry. It's 7am and I have to go to work.

It IS an occupation when the government is having its strings pulled by the US administration and is comprised of a number of key Northern Alliance figures, of which some of the main human rights based groups in Afghanistan strongly condemn and that a large population of Afghanistan did NOT vote for. It is also important to note that a large percent of polling stations during the last election where surrounded by coillition forces.

Sovereign power by definition is not enabled by a foreign occupying force, it must be fought for/aquired/enabled by and large by the citizens of said nations.

The current "extremist factions" could easily be made up of regular citizens pushed to extraordinary measures of resistance against foreign occupying forces, which also by definition is not terrorism, But i do fully admit the existance of a current and relevant extremist forces that operate outside the prementioned arena-but then it is important to consider how such forces came to power, what their history is with the United States(and USSR) while being funded and equiped during several proxy wars in the cold war era.

With just these simple realities, your explanation is as thin as Stephen Harpers venear of someone who actaully cares about the most oppressed peoples of this world.

Im still waiting for you to organize a parallel protest against our work. If you need a hand with spelling on any material or pickets, i have a dictionary you can borrow.

I was a chef for ten years. Now i do freelance graphic design. Im in the tail end of taking some "time off" but really all that means is i dont work a 9-5, but then i never did anyways. i spend 15hrs a week in school/45-60 hrs a week on assignements/ enough design work to eat and the rest with MAWO.

Im going to be working full time again come september, but i will have completed school so my schedual will remain somewhat similar.

Really it boils down to making enough money to eat, pay bills/rent, transit, music, books, and value village, so i no longer need to work 60hrs a week, And considering im a recovering addict/alcoholic im not at the bars/clubs much/ tack on the fact that im essentially an insomniac, and you can see why i have time - because i make time.

Although, there are people in this city, that eat, sleep and breathe their cause - its sometimes scary, but inspiring and reassuring most of the time.

Come out to an event sometime, perhaps our monthly rally coming up in a few weeks.

in my thoughts and in my face, if it aint you specifically, its another creature of the same race, blinded by nationalist pride, bent over slathered in astroglide, the whore of western arrogance, to your wallet and beer belly you trully confide, your insignificant self love and quest for success, while your chasing the papers, thinkn about those in the fight less and less. But sooner or later, polarization will force you to chose a side, and if you stick with the one you currently reside within, shit eating grin, wallowing in sin, your ass is gonna get called. Read a fucking book, your attempt at wit seems to have stalled.

hehe, dont take me too seriously in terms of the faux battle rape wannabe bullshit, but i would l be interested in what YOU are thinking about the current situation in Afghanistan, considering a lot has gone down since there was any specific discussion about it.

And i think you are lying about the face paint. Actually im feeling pretty confident that you have a maple leaf tatoo as well?

nope no tatoos at all

Also, I don't really follow the news blindly, I do look at both sides most times and while some of the stuff you talk about I agree with, I just don't agree with your tactics or attitude towards others..
