i have a job interview on monday with cibc credit collections, i have a pretty good idea of the job requirements but what are sort of things i should expect to have to deal with if i get the job?

CIBC does 'soft' collections, so you're not required to be a total jerk and scare people into paying since at this point they're still interested in retaining the customer. When that doesn't work they sell off the deadbeat accounts to a third party collection agency that doesn't give a fuck.

hey ista, where are you articling? how do you like auditing, im thinking of doing a CA because i want to get into valuation/M&A advisory/structured finance at one of the big four or mid market investment banks.

Actually they do give a fuck when it's in 3rd party collections. I collected for cibc at my collection agency for a year and a half. They do care. They have a special cibc test, you aren't allowed to collect for other clients, you can't see the files of other coients and vice versa. Cibc is one of the hardest clients I've collected for. Sean if you get hired it will be first party collections. So it will be waaay different then what I was doing for them. Give me a call if you want. :) Good luck!

I did CIBC thirds for about 6 months and I fuckin hated it. lol

I did 3rds for about 5 and hit every month. I did 1sts the rest of the time and only did well half the time.

What agency were you collecting with when you were doing cibc? What year were you collecting for them?

I;m doing BMO now. I like it sooooo much more. Ya know? I'v only been doing this shit for 2 years. I was a server before. Anyways, I spend more of my 'collections carrer' in CIBC... I like BMO way more.
