I surveyed a property in West Van owned by a family w/ a Basset Hound.

That dog was a fucking machine. Huge land mines all over their back yard

Had to watch my step constantly :worried:

there sure so are... my god father had one, so so cute...

one time we busted him chilling on top of tv... and these dogs aren't that small!

They are soooooo cute but I can't stand their barks. Same with beagles, the noise makes me wish I was deaf. Although, my dog's ridiculously high-pitched bark also makes me wish the same thing at times.

Barks? I can deal with that... With bassets also come: slobber (and lots of it), cleaning there ears all the time, there smell -- they are hounds and the fact that are super lazy.

There personalities though make up for it.

Yes... My g/f and I are chatting with a Lab breeder right now trying to find out when the next litter is due.

Probably within 6 months we will have a male yellow lab puppy. :-)

labs are awesome dogs, they are so smart! A lot of energy tho, they need to go on lots of walks/runs. :P

heh my friend has a basset hound, its funny because sometimes when its ear gets itchy it'll use its front paw to like scratch it.... kinda like a cat.... weird as hell... Anyways what ends up happening is that the dog will end up having his ear pinned between the floor and his paw and wouldn't know what to do because now he has limited movement with his head and can't see anything... So my friend sometimes has to lift his paw up from his ear to let him loose...

^^ This is why the primary purpose of the basset is to retrieve stuff for hunters - rabbits, birds, etc. LOL. They can't really do anything else.

awww i use to have one named bowser. when he was a puppy he use to trip over his own ears:( <3 so cute. he was brown and white.

I was thinking about getting a a Lab puppy but i decided to get a boxer instead. I get him in a couple weeks:)...i named him Ivan

Still no dog will ever compare or live up to how great my late golden retriever Zach was.:cry:
