i know your a zeppelin fanatic just like me....

whats your opinon on the strong occult influences on led zeppelin?..specfically, jimmy page's RABID occult obsession with aliester crowley .

i own a orig. mint pressing of ZEP 3 with one of crowleys phrases on it :

That's so funny... I'm reading a book right now that this old dude from work lent me... it's by Richard Cole Zep's tour manager... and the last chapter I read last night was actually talking about Jimmys obsession with Aliester Crowley. Do you collect vinyl? I'd like to see what you have. I have a ton of vinyl. I got my hands on some pretty cool pressings as well... you might also be interested in this book? I could lend it to you when I'm done with it?

Oh yeah...

I don't think it was an influence on "Led Zeppelin" so much as Jimmys obsession. I don't know too much about Aliester Crowley... but I can tell you that the influence that it had on the band seems to be mostly due to Jimmy Page. I think he was the one who would have included any references in/on their albums.

my knowledge and interest of the occult/crowley and its connections with rock runs pretty deep.

crowley is widely regarded as the most influential writer on magick and the occult in modern times. but hes also a complete nutter and a downright evil bastard lol hence his whole '666' number of the beast persona. crowley is some of the heaviest shit out there. ive been reading about him for almost 10 years now(jesus:S)

hes also on the beatles srgt. pepper album in wich ive cricled him....

further investigation led me to clues as to what "zoso" means. apparently the z portion is a occult astrological symbol for saturn. satrun has some extremely strong ties to the occult wich traces back to the ancient 'satrunnailia' cults of rome with they took from egypt/persia/babylon ect.

its all pretty fascinating but deffinatly in a geeky classic rock aficionado type of way lol
