so a couple of you asked me for tips on horses.
and a couple of you know who JJ! is and how much he means to me.

well the day has come my friends.

JJ! is running in the $50,000 Longden 6000 Stakes going 1 1/16 miles.

although i haven't looked at a current form on most of these horses, i know a couple from years past and they're a pretty tough group.
not sure who's run this year but i know he hasn't that leaves him with a disadvantage to those who have the fittness edge a race or two will give.

but i know JJ! he's one of a kind.

unlike most horses he doesn't run because that it's fun or because that's what seems like the right thing to do because everyone else is or whatever, he runs because he's an extremely smart and competitive animal who is also a bastard and HATES to lose.

in fact, he's quite a lazy horse, a smart, competitive, lazy bastard.

makes training him interesting, you have to trick him into working by sending another horse to work in company with him. otherwise it's push/pull/drag to the wire. put him eye to eye with another horse and he flips a switch to suddenly become a racehorse.

he's also one of the horses i took to phoenix in '05, he's an old man now, 9yrs old but over $300,000 life time earnings aint too bad for an old thing.

jj tried.
spaghetti mouse won.
his owners own nicks spaghetti house on the drive, they tried to name him spaghetti house but nick's writing is so shitty that they accepted it as mouse, his H looked like an M to them.

anyway.

that horse is all kinds a good.

but don't listen to me, go read the form or something.
i will tell you, the form lies.
we know what's gonna be published so we work our horses accordingly, so that the public doesn't know that we're sitting on a horse that'll dust the field.
and THAT is how some trainers make bank.

not everyone does that.

i don't believe he noticed until the horse was entered.
he has a lot of horses.
and once they've run, you can't change their name. i'm not sure about entries though, maybe he could have scratched and changed the name, but at that point he would have been stupid to do so. it takes so much to get them to their first race, to scratch for a trivial reason such as that would be foolish.

yeah but i made it pretty obvious that i knew the horse and was personally involved with him.
