We're looking to fill quite a few positions in our Games Testing and Language Testing department.

Description

This role provides a challenging opportunity for an experienced professional to join the Games Publishing team. The role is located in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada.

The Games Tester is responsible for game testing for the North American Games Publishing team. The Games Tester will work in a team of internal game testers to ensure that games are tested to the requirements and standards set by Games Publishing - North America.


Responsibilities:

· Test software for functionality, usability and platform requirements. Perform verification, boundary, stress and regression tests.
· Log bugs into a database, ensuring that all information is accurate, clear and concise.
· Create status reports on game areas, identifying major problems.
· Use team goals to prioritize work tasks. Follow assigned tasks and work in a focused and effective manner, remaining on task even under difficult conditions and during long hours.
· Write, update and execute test cases.
· Improve or create new tools and methods to perform testing. Assist other testers and distribute methods within team.
· Communicate effectively with teammates, Leads, and Production to share information.
· Demonstrate good listening skills, an ability to understand, appreciate and absorb what others are saying and to ask questions if interaction has not been understood.
· Work effectively within a team environment. Maintain a positive professional and helpful attitude that is an asset to the team.
· Demonstrate self management, be proactive, seek out training where required, develop a career plan and goals.
· Participate in the development of new game titles.
· Co-ordinate with other continental teams in testing as needed.

The Games Tester will report to the Test Manager - Games Publishing, North America

Qualifications

· One year of experience testing game software within a game development company (or equivalent education.)
· Knowledge of game testing processes and Quality Assurance in game development.
· Strong personal interest in video games, game development and game technologies.
· Understanding of software development process and challenges.
· Excellent organizational and communication skills.
· Desire to ask questions and improve on all of the above.

Language Testers-RIC0000001N

Description

This role provides a challenging opportunity for an experienced professional to join the Games Publishing team. The role is located in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada.

The Games Language Tester is responsible for verifying that the written text in the game is accurate according to the game design as stated by the North American Games Publishing team. The Language tester must be fluent in both English and the specified language. They will posses excellent writing skills and be current on the gaming culture of today. The Language Tester will also work with a team of internal game testers to ensure that games are tested to the requirements and standards set by Games Publishing - North America.

Positions available in each of the following languages: French / German / Spanish / Italian / Chinese-Traditional / Chinese-Simplified.


Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of the Language Tester is to proof read the documentation within the game and other game related material and make corrections when necessary. The Language Tester will also aid in the general testing of the game software once the language tasks have been completed. Other responsibilities include the following;

yea - jen is part of our overall 1st party team as a marketing manager - she's been working on a couple of my projects too :).

yeah, it says full time.

but a lot of employers put full time but mean full time, on a contract.

^^ Negative.. If it were to say "FULL TIME" and mean contract, legally it would have to say the contract duration in the job description somewhere.
