2.5 more a year than what LA was offering and the chance to come home to the city he grew up in.

We're also talking about one of the wealthiest sports franchises in the world, I'd be really surprised if it didn't happen.

He's the type of guy you love to hate.

I've always respected his bat, he's probably one of the best pure power hitters in the game.

As for his antics, expect a haircut and a better fitting uniform. Just look with what Torre was able to do with him in LA.

Expect some huge numbers salary wise too, just look at what K-Rod got with the Mets as a closer.

They just inked Wang to a one year deal now too. Pettitte is close to signing as well which will add some experience to a sick starting rotation.

Sabathia, Burnett, Wang, Chamberlain and Pettitte.

I'd say that's easily one of the best starting rotations the majors have seen in years.

Now if they sign Ramirez and Teixeira you're looking at facing a line up like this...

Posada, Rodriguez, Jeter, Cano, Teixera, Damon, Cabrera, Ramirez and Matsui.

That's probably one of the most potent line ups ever assembled in baseball.
