there was this cool thing that we did at the art gallery downtown one day

it was for a robots thing or something

anyways here's what you're gonna need:

a barbie head
some legs or arms
wire (coloured wire works nicely)
various nuts and bolts
cds (old ones that you dont listen to, or blank ones)
scissors
glue
something to stand "it" on
basically anything.

now...go wild.

My most recent art project was a 3 tone pastel portrait of two African woman photographed in an Amnesty International Calender.

What we were supposed to do was pick three tones of a color ( I chose black, dark grey and an almost whitish grey)... basically any 3 tones that will contrast with one another such as dark blue, medium blue and a very light blue and use the tones to distinguish the shading of the portrait.

So based on the photograph, you have to use your darkest tone for the darkest shades, lightest tone for the light areas on the photograph and so on.

I also chose fertility as the theme, because one of the women in the photograph ( the amnesty international calender is a collection of photos from around the world describing some real life situations that some of the people in the photos are currently going through or have gone through) had a miscarriage and has to wear an ornament on her head for the rest of her life displaying that to her tribe.
Anyhoo I drew a baby as a theme, and the coloring of the baby is this bright yellowish orange.
The background of the portrait is red...
I got 90/100 I was quite happy with it :)

bebu*funfun will become famous soon enough
quick projects:

draw contour of an object/anything. copy the image a few times, but change the style. ex. change of negative and positive space, enlarge/zoom into area, flip image, stretch image, color image.

photoshop photo manipulation is SUPER fast.. find a picture of a place, person, object and just mess around with the pic.

make up an event or something or even a business card..and make it look like a piece that has purpose. (computer)

still life drawing.. get some fruit in a bowl in front of u and just draw.

sketchbook is counted as one piece in a port.

i have tons of ideas..i crammed my ass last year as well.. but i had 2 months to cram. 25 in a week is huge toughy. look for highschool work if i were you.

good luck christine..i heard its a toughy program to get into.
