there are no places in vancouver that are cheap.

$800-$900/mo in Van gets you maybe a studio thats about 600 square feet. i dunno how you're going to afford that on your chocolate factory income.

i suggest finding a roomie first than crack open the province and look for places in E. Van...

but people do lie. its one way of being a good sales person, is to manipulate what you say an advertise.

vancouver is hella expensive, whoever said east van is a better choice was right.

the closer you are to the city the more expensive the cost of living.

go the canada.com classifieds. or for shared accomodation in west side van try ubc's amsrentsline.com.

forget about kits, but there are okay places elsewhere in van for a reasonable amount of cash. a place is opening up in my friend's building on davie & thurlow - a big 2 bedroom in a fantastic location for $950. it's an old building, but it's definately liveable, and for that price and that location you can't go wrong.

Good apartements around Brodway and Granvill area are only like 600 but if you go farther then that and look around you can get some really nice places for 550.

If your working full time im sure you can do it. I hope everything works out

I pay $850 for a one bedroom downtown. Pretty expensive. I should really get a bigger place and a room mate or something, btu then I'd have to move and I hate that.

i'm a network tech, and make like 20 bucks an hour (to post on here, apparently). still, its nice to live alone too. but i guess i should save some money anyway. bah. anyway, good luck finding a place in your price range.
