i'm going to have to disagree with all you people.

ponchos are back in.

designers and couture houses such as mark jacobs and burberry all have "capettes" (ponchos) in their new lines.

oddly enough, Gap hired old designers from both houses (jacobs and burberry) to design their women's line. The first line by the new designers is the Fall One collection already in stores....and as chance would have it...ponchos are in that line too.

i'm not a fan of capettes/ponchos but they are back in style. my cousin bought the burberry capette...it's kind of gross though. it's turquoise plaid. but this is the same girl that bought burberry gumboots to garden in?

I admit to owning a poncho, I like them. It's solid black, comfy and cute :) I dont really know what I think of the color green Laura chose. Kinda reminds me of an old ladies tea cozy.
Moving on.

As for capettes?

Are those like the mini ponchos that just cover your shoulders? I was shopping along Robson the other day and those things are EVERYWHERE Not too sure what I think of them either. I think if you have the right style for it, it could probably look really cute. Unfortunately, not many people do.

Like I promote ppl who make fashion...cuz I nothing I wear is my own~~like I got hand me downs frum everyone...n I think I have one pants thats officially mine.

but the rug thing/poncho~~not of my personal taste. Sum ppl can pull it off if the material is light n the stitching isnt so chunked up n tight. I find it looks best if its similar to netting~so that way u can actually see the layers. SO all in all if turns out well... the look should end up like a coke head model hippy (cut n paste frum teh 70's) who listens to such bands as the Rapture~pretty dark eh?
