I have read most of the classic anthology '15 Canadain poets x 2' edited by Gary Geddes. Besides this cooool poem by Bowering called Albertasaurus, none of it really appeals to me.

Any Atwood from the Journals of Susanna Moodie? I'd be all over that.

I'll give you $40 worth of advice.

When you're dealing with an assignment like this, and all you can think about is how much you hate the content you're supposed to be writing about... write about how much you hate it! Take that Atwood stuff and pick it apart!

In an educated manner, of course.

Not only does this allow you to vent, but it also makes essays go waaay faster.

Honestly, it's not a hard essay. I am just so totally uninterested and demotiviated (which is why I've got the coffee on).

For some reason it refuses to just write itself. This may have something to do with the fact that I'm not even really trying. WHO KNOWS???

ps - Thanks myra!

Unfortunately Can Lit is a bit far out of my field.

That and I'm already writing an essay right now for me.

THAT, and I think you should do your own paper because, otherwise, what the hell are you even going to school for? COME ON, LEARN. YOU CAN DO IT.

Fine, fine I shall write my own paper and leaaaarn something.

But I can't decide if I should write it on the trope of insanity/madess or the landscape as a comonality between poems. I mean, does being crazy or living near a mountain or something make us 'canadian'? I DON'T CAAAAAARE.

I think both define us as canadians. Perhaps the two are linked.

I know I'm crazy. And I can see mountains from my house.

lol If you were doing an Essay on Political Science, International Relations, Astrophysics, Aviation, Geography, Meterology or other such Subjects I'd be the one to talk to. I'm about as deep as a Kiddy Pool so Lit isn't an area I accel at. Sorry Robyn. :(

My suggestion to you, Robyn, is to only take classes in which the material interests you.

School shouldn't be painful.

I actually really like Canadian Lit, we (the entire class, proff included) are just valiantly trying to work our way through the mandatory poetry section right now. It's all down hill after this.

Now I will take the books outside with the intention of working in the sun, but really I'm just going to fall asleep on top of them.

Are you referring to the almost inevitable creeping onset of isolation and despair we canadians are faced with due to our insignificance in the face of our country's massive geographical infrastructure?

Is that what you mean?
