I recently got a bunch of estimates on a dented door & front fender. Quite a small dent but it was centered on the crack between the door and fender, so they had to repair 2 pieces. Plus the vehicle had 2 paint colours and clear coat, increasing the worktime.

Most places were very close to $800 and almost all the cost is labour. But I found one place, a small place called Gregs with a good rep, was $600. In Chilliwack so probably not of interest to you.

The painting is done at a higher hourly rate than the body repairs. So if you can paint it yourself, that will save big bucks.

It's probably only the small owner-run shops that will do the work for less cost. If it looks like a regular body shop with several guys, it will most likely have regular (high) prices.
