ive been thinking of selling my LiL bitch for a lil while here.. just looking for some good offers to see if its worth it to sell it or just keep it....

its a 1992 volkswagon jetta 2 door jetta
1.8L 4 cyclinder 5 speed
it has about 224+ kms on it
new timing belt head gasket spark plugs new front tires
needs a few things done to it to put it back to perfect running order.
5 gears is gone ( totaly gone LOL ) dont know how it happend but its gone.
fuel pump is about to go .
needs a front alinement.
and a new left head lamp cover ( thats the glass part not the light its self )

i paid about 6000$ for it 3 years ago in march it had 134+ orignal kms on it.

id be looking for about 5000 for it considering i know way to much about this car and know how much it would cost to put it back in good running order.

lets see, new gear box and syncros probably if your gears are gone, labour + parts = $700-$1000 (depending on how good a deal u can get.
Fuel pump = $257.32 + about 3 hours of labour $150 MINIMUM
The average price for a jetta in good running condition is 5k (check www.buysell.com )
So please if anyone does take that 5000 offer from you take a picture of them and post it up here so I can make fun of him/her.

eric i can get a new tranny for 250-300 THATS NEW NOT USED lol i have contacts .....and besides im just looking to see if its worth selling .....so far ive had offers from 15,000$$$ this is a hot car my friend....the value of a VW is very good specialy if you know where your selling it but its still not looking like i wanna sell this one lol

i had a guy say if he bought this car hed dump about 30'000 into it

but keep the offers and critisism coming it just makes me wanna keep it more and more lol the amount of work is very little and very low cost....

a co-worker has an 89 and a 92 jetta and I believe you when you say the tranny is cheap. I can't believe how cheap parts are for those things, I wouldn't be suprised if you could pick up a new motor for 600 dollars, I wish my cars parts were that cheap.


Anyone who dumps 30 grand into it though, isn't quite right in the head. IMHO :)

Labour and shop costs will eat you alive on car repairs. The parts cost is just the tip of the iceberg.

Still drivin my 80 Jetta. It's a simple enough car that I can do most of the work myself, and it hasn't needed much work.

exactly my friend lol shes treated me right right but parts are cheap and its a hard running car you can drive these cars till its barely running and still run it even harder till its dead ...then you just get a new engine lol

and i can get a 16 valve 4 cyclinder for 750 which is my next project for this car which is hella faster then my simple for banger lol but id realy like to get the DOHC 16 valve VR6 and in take turbo nitro air box exsetra lol and all that other funky junk for my box lol
