this is only if the driver is OVER 25, and with no additional insurance costs!

and you can take the car over the border, but you must tell the rental company that you are doing so, they will advise you to get the right insurance (ie to cover theft of your belongings)

You don't have to tell the rental company that you're leaving the country. Cubed and I have rented a car to go down to Oregon a few times and never tell them. They'll try to charge you extra.

They never stipulate that you can't take the car over the boarder anyways. It's the same as driving it the same amount of Kms north.

I've been used for the car I use to have about 8 billion times, give or take a million, so I don't feel bad whatsoever, besides obviously we're paying for gas and we're also assuming whoever would drive also wants to go down anyway... geez.

that's what i always thought, but my buddy works at hertz and he said most rental companies (his included) only have their coverage though washington state. my last few rentals at enterprise asked where i was going, i said u.s. and there were no charges, or attempted extra charges on their part.

i just usually rent at enterprise for their weekend specials. it's about $100 after everything for the weekend. that is for the ghetto car with unlimited kms, but a 4 dr kia we had 2 years ago was actually pretty decent.

btw: if your credit card has insurance, just pay for the car with your card and you won't need to pay for extra insurance. and enterprise rents to under 25, but has to be over 21.

if i were you guys i'd try to rig up a weekend trip so you can stay for 2 days and score the expemption.($200cdn) you get your $50 expemption for the one day, but if you're over you get no exemption and that really blows. trust me $50 cdn does not go a long way.

if you were going hardcore, go to oregon, no tax and i scored tons of super fly fantastic shit there 2 weeks ago. ie: shox for $120cdn, shit at nordstrom's RACK is super pimp too.
