Houseboaters!
Ok so I have sent out some sponsorship requests to a couple companies over the past few days. And so far I have received two replies back. El Capitano Morgan said no. But Molson asked me to send some info to their promotions department. So Now I have to write them a proposition and fax it to them.
But I would like some ideas on what to say so that we get it. Here is what the e-mail they sent me said. *Thanks for your e-mail. We are pleased to hear you are interested in having Molson sponsor your event. To start the process, please write or fax a detailed sponsorship proposal that includes the date, time, place, number of guests, and the items you are requesting (beer, cups, logo items, etc.) to our Promotions Department: I've got an ok draft set up. But I think it's lacking when I get to describing why they should advertise with us. Like hype up the party and stuff. So yah any suggestions would be great. PS: I need it in the next couple days. I'd be surprised if they've never sponsored a boat before so they should know a little bit about what the scene is like up there. Obviously when you give them the time frame they'll realize Canada Day is a big deal and we can use that to our advantage. As for actual merch.... it's tough to know what to ask for. As much or as little as they'd like to donate, but beer is an important donation. If they want us to properly rep their product we should be gunned off it should we not? Tell them how many people we have in total (ie: PAID GUESTS) and see what our options are for merch.

Yah here is my first draft of what I wrote. So people can give suggestions for other things that should be in there or should be changed.
Hello, I am faxing you to inquire on the option of sponsorship, for a house boating trip that my friends and I are taking over the Canada day long weekend. We are going to the Shuswap lakes near Sicamous BC, between the dates of June 25th and July 2nd of this year. We plan to have about 18 people with us throughout the trip. And as many as 24 on the long weekend. We think this would be a good opportunity for promoting your product. Since there are many people up looking for a party atmosphere for the Canada day long weekend. We were just hoping that you could perhaps provide us with a large banner, for us to attach to the side of our houseboat. As well as some t-shirts to wear around the beach. maybe toss in some more stats about the whole houseboating scene, like how on average every night we will be on a beach with 40+ boats, each with at least 10 people. thats around 400 people nightly that would be seeing our boat with their advertisements!

Yah I was thinking there should be more info about the party scene up there. I just was trying to think before bed and well it wasn't going so well. Shaun said that his roommate roland may have some ideas since he has put together some events before with sponsors. And also his other roommate may know some people at molson so we will see what happens with that.
