If you don't, however, start to find your own fun sans drugs, I can pretty much guarantee that you will be trying to kick a meth addiction in somewhere between 8 months to a year's time. It's not fun, for you or anybody else around you. Take my word for it.

3) No two E caps are ever guaranteed to be alike unless you yourself made the caps or pressed the tabs. So PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD stop spamming boards with posts like "What is the best E" or "What are Green Chanels with Red Dots like?" As soon as word hits the pressers of what the new "in" tab is, they start pressing a whole bunch of cheap-shit stuff with whatever used to be "good E". Sadly, pill testing is still illegal in Vancouver. There used to be a group on the Island that did it, but I dunno if they still do (Island Kidz still around?). But, more than anything, if you decide to do a drug, know what its consequences are. That doesn't mean asking a bunch of ravers what the drug is like. It means going out and doing your own research. Erowid, Dancesafe, and google are all excellent resources. Please, for the love of god, use them.

4) Understand that a lot of different people see a lot of different ways of "supporting" your scene. Ultimately, the best way to do it is to go out and throw your own party. But it's a lot easier said than done. Work with people who do know what they're doing. Alienating yourself from the scene can and has in the past led to sketchy parties, flailing promoters, intrascene politic we can do without, and even death threats in various forms. Just remember that there's a whole scene out there of help. There are also a strong presence of "Cartel" promoters. Best not to piss them off, but that doesn't mean you have to be their bitch. My personal opinion is that overpriced indoor legal parties where Security seems to exist only to make sure that the only activities that are occurring are drug inducing and dancing, in my opinion, aren't very "vibey", and you'll find a lot of agreeance amongst the people who have been kicking around for a while.

5) For the love of god, these are supposed to be mass expressions of hedonism. So don't run screaming bloody murder just because someone is trying to do something different. Especially if it's of a sexual nature. Remember that all this rave shit started with the Gay Club Scene (the term "House" music comes directly from a Chicago post-disco gay club called The Warehouse). So if someone runs up and hugs you randomly and you've never seen them before, go with it. It's not every day that we get to see this kind of unbridled celebration of existence.

Its wierd, but your right. I see the same rotation that happens with everyone's frame of mind... newbies-bitter-club scene. It's crazy how ill over hear the same comments/conversation/posts I remember getting into 4 years ago!?!

we ended up passing off the e but the money was a huge score. it's not like we were going to go on one of the stages be like "did someone drop this in the middle of the field over there" ? lol

well anyway, I'd have to agree with the don't do any drugs you find quote. I've seen too many people do this and be super sick about an hour after taking it. I guess it could have just been because they were soo messed up to begin with they couldn't really decide not to take it so why not another. To what they can remember they think someone just put it in there hand and they sit there and make faces at it for 5 mins before taking it.. lol Not like it happened lately to someone i know or anything.. HaHaHa



RULE #69: We aren't all superstar DJs, and We can't always play to please everyone. We do our best playing what we have and like, and if that's not good enough for you don't make the "LAME" look cause it's not your favorite style of music. We are out there to have fun just like you. we pick our own styles for a reason, and this is why someone gets booked for certain shows, so if you can at least try to enjoy it and find something good from it, or just ignor it and perhaps have a longer smoke/bathroom/fresh air break. All in All we try our best, it's not an easy thing to do getting up infront of 100s of critics trying to impress them. Half the time there really is something wrong with the set up ... (Damaged Needle, monitors are whack, the mixer is screwed, someone really does bump the tables or jumps on the stage which actually does causes the needles to skip, The DJ is actually tierd cause they had to work all day cause they really aren't getting paid for the show, or anything else along those lines.)

Well that was fun, thinking back to almost 6 years of djing. (6 years at the end of june) and it's not just me and this all hasn't happened to me, some are things i've seen over the years as a partier, dj, producer and promoter. I think it just goes to say for it's self, but it's still good to remind people that we really do try our best, be it our first or last show, or even somewhere in the middle with many more to come, well we hope!

PS... no one take this the wrong way plz! like I said it's a very general statement and it goes for almost anything; meaning, it could be a DJ, Band, Artist, dancer, singer, etc.. It's all a form of art that people express in their own way and you just have to see/hear it with a more open mind to understand why they choose it.
