Blood donations??

So I've decided I'm gonna go give blood again, probably sometime early next week - anybody wanna come along. I'm not sure where there is a center around me, but I'll find out and let you know.

ps. I hate that stupid blood services commercial line "Blood, it's in you to give." No it's not! It's in me to provide my cells with much needed oxygen! I'll give it anyway, and I realize it's just a stupid catch phrase and I realize they are trying to work the phrase on multiple levels of meaning (meaning it's up to you, or only you can decide to give... yada yada).. but I just don't like it. Of course now my blood has gone sour from being too bitter so they might not want it.

giving blood makes me wanna faint. they always take hella, and then im like SHIT YO, U TOOK HELLA.... n then i feel all weird...

what bastards huh? Does it really matter if your hemoglobin lacks iron and can't transport enough oxygen for the person that's dying or whatever. pfft, i tells ya.

ps. Myra, they take so much blood from you (they stick a tube, thats right - a tube - not a needle) that an anemic person would probably faint, amongst other bad things.

Fair enough - you would have devonair, chivalrous men fawning over you and making sure you're OK... maybe they would even use smelling salts.

i would go except im in the same boat as myra...all the iron pills arent working i guess...

that and i just got a new piercing in the last 6 months..although i dont know if that matters anymore since they do them with needles and not the guns

Is there even anybody on this board than can donate blood?? It seems as though any of the people that don't have too many drugs running through them have some form of blood disorder.

i don't have drugs in me, or a blood disorder.

i've just had recent piercings.

WIERD....I'm donating today at like 3pm. Thanks for the whole bit about the tube instead of a needle Bryan.... I really needed to know that. It's all good though. I'm not a big fan of giving blood but it makes me feel good that I'm helping to save other people's lives *insert warm fuzzies here*

Last time I checked they wouldn't take my blood cause I had been to England.

I think they think I have mad cow disease.

yup. you can't have had any piercings or tattoos done within the last year.

you're starting to creep me out dude... first the Panago thing, now this - i'm pretty sure there were some other "coincidences" as well, but I can't remember them right now. You need to stay OUT of my mind - do you hear me?? Of course you do because you're reading my mind right now!! AAAAHHH....

Now, back to the regularly scheduled post regarding this thread. So far all I've had is responses from people that can't give blood or are actually doing it in 1 hr and 10 min from now (creeepy)... can I get a response from someone that can give and will give and isn't already doing it today?
