I'm looking for part time work...

Here's the low down... I work part time as a legal assistant which is probably one of the best jobs I've ever had except that it doesn't completely pay all the bills. I've been on the lookout for part time work for the past couple months but I haven't had much luck. My current job is super flexible so I'm not too worried about trying to schedule a second job. I'm looking for about 20hrs a week at anywhere from $8-12/hr doing pretty much anything I'm capable of.

As most of you know I don't exactly look like your normal office girl. I have a madonna, lip ring and 1 & 3/8" lobes. I also have a large chestpiece but that's easily covered by a shirt. I'm also currently sporting a shaved head however I do own a wig which I'm not adverse to wearing. I am not however willing to remove my piercings.

All that being said I have extensive experience in office (4+ years) and customer service environments. I'm punctual, I work hard and I'm a whiz at multi-tasking. I take on new tasks all the time and get the hang of them very fast.

If your company (or anyone you know of) has a part time opening for someone who may not look exactly "normal" but is willing to work hard please let me know where I can forward a resume to.

I looked at Safeway's site in the careers section and they don't have anything posted right now. Not to mention I've never seen anyone with large gauged lobes (let alone facial piercings) work at a major grocery store.

In terms of safeway, the one at broadway and macdonald is hiring. I see the sign outside all the time :)

But hey, I have a lip ring (middle with labret stud, so you don't notice it until i smile), and a nose stud.. and i've had enough trouble finding a job.

So any recommendations of piercing friendly places would be nice anyways :)

I'm pretty sure SPUD the organic grocery delivery people are hiring. They've got a stand down at Granville Island Market... starting wage is $10/hr. I used to work there but they canned me 'cuz they were "going a different way with things and had to let me go" (bullshit I know since I worked there for five months).

But anyways... they're usually hard up for people and they hire just about anyone (I worked there with all my piercings and flamin red hair). If you can handle a fair amount of disorganization then it's a decent job... they only do part time though.

i recommend applying @ choices market for part time work.
Theres one in kits, yaletown, cambie and south surrey.

i've been working for them a bit more than a month and it's pretty sweet.
starts at 10$ an hour, 10% discount on groceries, and after 6 months health benefits. The people are really great and the atmosphere is relaxed and easy going most of the time.
Much better than any other grocery store I've worked at.

I heared BAD BAD BAD things about Safeway.
EVERY SINGLE FRIEND of mine who has worked there has HATED it.
They dont allow you to have body mods anyway so its out of the question.
I know the one on Davie is looking for people like theres no tomorrow though.

chapters is pretty good with their piercings...we had a guy with stretched ears work here, but they weren't stretched that much.. i have my lip, eyebrow, tongue and ear pierced...and there is another girl with two lip rings.

it's the chapters downtown and we're still hiring.
