so today was the special day that almost every girl gets to experience..

the day that their parents find their birth control pills.

what a thrill... the day i forget to put it in my wallet and left it on my table top....was surprisingly the day my mom decided to snoop around. great. she warned me that she wanted to "talk" earlier on the day, and when i got home... oh the talk came. Of course.. i told her i just started to go on it..and it was for my skin and to regulate etc. and WOW.. it was also a special day for my mom... it was the first time my mom showed UNDERSTANDING. she just told me to be responsible and take care of my own body etc. a year of keepin a secret... now its completely open.

what a strange stange day, i never thought it would be that easy.

i remember seeing someone else post something like this before... wondering if u were the parent if ud approve it or not. if ud TAKE ure kid to the clinic to get the bcps or not. im all for supporting.. i know id be devastated if my kid didn't want me to know she was on birth controls.

but my parents didn't bother giving me the talk, even after peeling off my used condoms from the garbage can..hah, they don't empty my garbage anymore :(

i will hide it from my parents forever. sex, and anything related. i dont care if they find out if i do drugs, but never the sex. i oculd be dating, in a serious relationship, engaged, mamrried, hell, i could be pregnant, and i would still claim to be the virgin mary. you are so lucky to be able to share that.

um.. my parents have never given me a "talk". when they found my pills, my mom couldn't even call them 'birth control pills'. she referred to them as 'hormone pills'.

when I told her it was for my skin, all she said was "well, just don't take them for too long".

hmm i've never had that "special day" my mom was the one who brought me to the clinic.. and i've never had "the talk", its so weird.. unless u classify "your old enough to know to have safe sex" is a talk. lol my parents trust me i think.

that is exactly what my mom called them. "hormone pills"...she gave me the talk about if i take them for too long ill get this and that cancer. yups shes right. i still can't talk to my mom about sex, nor do i think she really thinks its for sex, but now its floating in her mind and i KNOW it will bug her.

My mom was the one that suggested the pill in the first place..I was 16 and she said "If you need me to take you to the family dr, we can go talk about the pill and possibly having you go on it"

it was alright having the 'cool mom approach' (especially seeing as how a lot of my family are very conservative Catholics) but at that age it sure was just...awkward..haha

Though we never had any kind of 'talk', so I just had all this birthcontrol and NO IDEA WHERE BABIES CAME FROM!@#$

I think I learned everything about sex from Degrassi High anyways, true story.

That should be pretty hard on parents. (Honestly,, I don't know how I would react if I found out my daughter was on the "pills") but kudos to your parents for understanding.

for me, my parents are totally fucked up. My dad whines all day because he believes i don't get laid enough. Everynight I come back from a party he asks me if i 'scored'... which follows a 'you suck' and a long ass 'when I was your age........'

yeah i had the "special parent" talk too and i told them all about how its for the skin, helps the cramps thing ...but my big mouthed step-mom couldn't miss a golden time like that to share with me her "firt time" experiences... trust me guys that was a convo that will land me in therapy for the rest of my life...sick.

I had the same sort of discussion with my mother a day or so after coming out to her...

Took her a while to get over the shock I kinda threw at her (I came out in the middle of a screaming argument)

Granted, she was not quite as understanding as your mother was about the birth control pills.

She eventually came to accept things though.. and now with her second grandchild on the way (Older Bro had a kid 7 years ago today, and my younger sister is expecting), I think she is glad I am not giving her anymore. :) She is only 43 after all.

my mom freaked out when i went on the pill. the doctor gave me hte choice of telling her or not, and i decided to tell her cause i didnt want to lie about it. and i was going on them due to cramps, and regulation.
i dont think i could ever stand having a "talk" with my parents, me and my brother were totally dropped off by the stork. no sex happened in my house.

Wow I think my mom is too "cool" when it comes to talking about sex and drugs... gets kinda anoying.
Shes told me too many times of when her mom found her bc in her back pocket. Her mom took them out, shock her head, and than slamed them on the counter. Mom says that was the only "sex talk" she ever had with her mom.

I must of been 16/17 (still inocent) but I was heading out for the night and happend to mention some boy names of who I was hanging out with... later on b4 I leavt dad cries in a very seriouse mannor "No sex tonight... ok!"

It's so different for me to here things like that.

I've been on the pill for a long time because of reasons other than sex. But I know she knows I'm having sex. It's no big deal to her at all. As long as I'm safe about it and that I'm not a whore. Her thing was just that my brother and I couldn't have our bf's or gf's sleep over until after we graded.

hahaha.. that happened to me about a year ago.. my mom literally chased me around the house.. (i ran from room to room) and yelled some made-up statistics about the increasing rates of syphillis..

she also told me that taking the PILL was like playing RUSSIAN ROULETTE.. or something like that.
