i was sorta in the same situation as sammy.. i was going to go into a program right after grad.. then like a month b4 i realized it was not what i really wanted to do.... so i took a year off ,worked all year... saved up for school.... and figured out what i really wanted... i just finshed my program here in vic after 3 years and now im in van waiting to start my program in january (i wanna work for a couple months and get settled b4 i start school again)....

but anyways... the point is everyone is different.. some people can go into university/college right after high school... some people need more time to discover what they really want... just dont rush yourself if you dont know what u really want to do..... cause then u just end up wasting time and money taking courses u dont even like or need.....

P.S what did Fnkers do when they gradded.....and were you ever in a position like this?

youll have to move back into vic to have a chance at geting into a real university (read: UBC, SFU, that one in the valley)...all those uni's you need an average of 84% or higher to get into even the faculty of arts(its retarded)

so moving to van may not be a good idea, but personally i think taking a year off is because then you can decide what you really want..

non accredited degree granting schools like dougie, kwatlen, langara, capp for most people there fuckin traps..you end up spending four years in thes schoolw asting a shitload of time and money and not coming out with much...but thats my own opinion and people can say the same shiot about a BA but thsoe people can suck my dick...if you go out and be aggressive and you have a BA you can make a good spot for yourself..its a really good starting point and statistically speaking most people wiht BAs make as much as their BS and ENG counterparts but it takes a while longer.

the mother fucker in starbucks complainign that he only makes nine bucks an hour with his BA is there ebcause hes a chump....keep you eyes on the prize and youll be picking gold from the fuckin street.

p.s living on your own in van aint no joke..give that pipe dream up cuz you probably wont be able to afford it and expect to be able to go to school a year later, even if you got two entry level jobs

i thought you was fifteen..life is rough kid, fuck raves and yo bf (he'll probably be old news within a year anyway) stay at home and dont over look trades...trade school is the place to be right now...you come outta that shit, and if you pick construction or metal working or shit you come out making 45-80g's a year and that aint fuckin chumpchange

p.s making an hourly wage of 14 or even 19 buck an hour is chump change, i made that much and i gave that shit up man, half those jobs liek that you got no future, if you in the office you some chump clerical mother fcuker or some commision sales guy who will be gone the second a company starts loosing money...education is the fuckin key, its fuckin essential man. my cousing makes 75k a year at a steel mill, steel commodity prices are fuckin volitile as fuck, once they start loosing money he's gone, they have layed himn off temporarily the last few years, shit like that is the golden handcuff, hes fuck if he gets laid off, especial if he got wife kids and a morgate cuz theres no chance and hell he'll find another job liek that one, and he has no skills only highscool...you need that piee of paper no matter who syas it bullshit, because people who say its bullshit are ignant mother fuckers anyway.

keep yo eyes on the prize kid....and i still say take a yer off if you uncertain on what you want to do, tho remmeber what stringbeans says its hard to get back into the school groove especially if youve been fuckin around for awhile since you gradded. but aat the same time, you gotta recognize, shit is dynamic, you can takea program focuses on one aspect of shit like for example typewriter repair, and then ten years later shit comes along and your education is obosulete..you have to keep that in mind..whihc makes picking what you want to do even harder.

Me, just recently graduated highshool and now on my own am re-thinking going back to school. I had everything all planned out that when I graduated I would go back to school right away. However I have a step back. Money. My tuition is aboutr $5000 and honesly I dont have that kinda money. Eitehr I be in debt and have the privilage of paying off a student loan, or I take a year off and save up the money.

It still is a really big decision I have to make but right now im more leading to the second idea. I do know the most ppl out there say their going to take a year off and then when a year passes they never want to go back to school. But I know that I want to go back to school. :)

Kat, my advise for you is to think about all the resourses and stuff u have/need (i.e. money, transportation, books, etc) and see where that takes u. U might not be thinking the same way after calculating all the expenses and stuff.

and i decided to stay here for another year and take my paralegal course then move to van after i grad.........
