english doesn't sound like welsh.. welsh is alot thicker.. and a but cruder

English is easy to understand

everyone in my family has dutch accents and thats not hard to understand

yeah. english and welsh are different languages...but their ACCENTS are quite similar. it seriously sounds like your talking to someone from england. most people in wales don't even speak welsh anymore because its the old language.
so...don't sweat about trying to understand your friend, you won't have any difficulty.
