Serious advice needed

I recently met one of the most awsome girls I've ever known, cute, funny, smart and sweet. Weve been hanging out a lot and I really like her. Weve been talking about going out and I think it would be encredible but there is just one problem... she has herpes. She got it from her last boyfriends through oral... Shes on supressive therapy and says its pretty manigable. So is it worth the risk? If you were in the same situation would you do it?

yeah dude that sucks....hmmm you obviously r into her, by posting this and still considering it.....too bad she got fucked over by her ex. I dont know too much about herpes, what does it mean if it's "manageable"....? Need more info I suppose to give ya any advice

ok well i've researched it and basicly you catch herpes from somone if they have a "blister" or have virall shedding? and supressive therapy mostly stops both of those and she can tell when its going to happen so its easy to evoid sex... dunno, im just nervous : S scared she will screw up and not know.

Yeah you cant cure it. I found this forum to ask ppl about it... I want to resepct her privacy and not talk about it to people who might know her if we go out. its not something she wants everyone to know obviously so I found a board with a sort of relationships/sex forum with people our age.

Why not just hang out with her and not have sex? If you end up totally falling in love the decision is kinda made for you. And if I've learned anything from those valtrex comercials herpes isn't that hard to work around.

I think ur best bet is to talk to a doctor, seriously, this is IMPORTANT shit.

As much as you like her, you may be better off forgetting about her, as hard as that may be for you, and I am sure it's even harder for her. But I would seek professional advice, maybe its okay.

I'm glad there are open minded people out there. She had a really hard time telling me... hasn't had a relationship since she contracted it from that guy. She said shes affraid of somone freaking out and telling everyone : ( now if i reject her just on the basis of the herpes shell be totally crushed.

yeah herpes isnt something to be joked about...u should really think about ur decision before u go along wit it. somehow im glad im not in ur shoes...
