Birthdays
so my birthday is coming up in a few months.. and I've come to the realization that the parties, the candles, the cake and the singing "happy birthday" is a real turn-off.
I don't seem to look forward to birthdays anymore. anyone else feel the same way? --Joanne :P

This might sound ridiculous, but for my lkast birthday (20 years) I had somewhat of a mental breakdown. To me, that age was just another reminder of the fact that I'm "growing up/getting older" and haven't accomplished certain things etc etc. You could say I've had a few tough years in my life, and turning something like the big two zero made me look back and analyze the shit out of the past, myself, and the future.
Luckily my fanfuckingtabulous boyfriend stuck with me through it, and a great opportunity arose for me just at the right time (travelling the world doing something I love). That got me thinking ALOT and completely changed my point of veiw. NOw my next birthdays not too far away and to me it just means I'll be able to drink in the states haha. I just hope the same thing doesn't happen to me on my 30th birthday and so on.

I say birthdays are just a day to hang out with your closest friends and have fun...and if you expect anything of it then its just gunna be a let down I never expect anything from anything or anyone anymore cause it just don't work out..and since we in the birthday catagorie i wanna give a happy birthdday shout out to bongman....my gurl vicky,she juz turned 28 on the 12th...my best friend Tori she was 18 on the 9th...my lil buddy lynden who was 5 on the 11th....My dad who is 51 on V-day..my buddy Dave who was 19 on the 4th umm yeah i think thats all of them for now so yeah happy birthday to everyone else that i 4got too :D

My 20th is in 15 days and Jenna, i can totally relate to you. I have started to dredd the inevitable. it makes me sad. So i think i am just going to keep telling everyone i am 19 until i turn 21, then i will be 21.

Im going to be 21 tomorrow and well,having a b-day on valentinesday and being all grows up really is teh suck. Cuz all of your friends are involved,so that leaves you solo on your b-day. I wanted to have a rad b-day party this year with paper monkey head shaped plates and monkey head party hats...but none of my friends could come cuz they have s/o`s :( so i celebrated half of my b-day on friday,im celebrating the other half tonight...and then tomorrow im going to celebrate my b-day by myself seeing as tho my parents are doing fuck all for me :) GO TEAM VALENTINES DAY B-DAY! (N)

I LOVE BIRTHDAYS!
It's a special day where EVERYONE has to be nice to you, and they give you presents and buy you drinks and YOU GET ALL THE ATTENTION! Birthdays are fab :) Hell, I think I deserve a parade, not just a cake and a song!

I've never ever really celebrated any of my birthdays.. except for last year.. my 19th.
every other year was just.. like me and like a few other friends chilling.. cause the rest would always sell out. And becuase of that.. I've come to dislike bday.. but last year.. changed it all. [thanx Erin] I dont expect cake or anything.. jsut to see my friends happy n having a good time is all that matters. :)

I decided that a long time ago.
Around about age 14, one birthday I just sat down and watched 5 movies, just because that's all I really wanted to do. They were some pretty good movies too, on the most part. So ever since then I've just found more solace in not celebrating my birthday. On the few occasions I have, something thoroughly fucked the day/night up or whatever. I preferred on the most part, though, a quiet day. Then, last year, I went to a local concert in Duncan, a Rage-like band called Blind State (a coupla friends were in it). That was pretty cool to start with. Chilling out with a bunch of new Duncan people I hadn't really hung out with much, smoking a bunch of weed and then rocking out. Good times. Then, after the show, there was apparently an after-party dealy going on in Shawnigan Lake. I manage to bundle up some people, load up a car and follow a convoy out there. Had a blast at the party, planned on sleeping in the back of the truck so I got thoroughly tanked, hung out with some really fun/cool/crazy/sexy people, and just had a generally good time. I think I don't really so much like making a big fuss about my birthday, but sometimes it's a good idea to just reward the fact that you're still going and just have a good time.
