"Fake Friends"

I bug myself.

I have this girlfriend.

I like her alot, we are close, we share secrets get along AMAZINGLY. I really love her to bits.

but in some odd turn of events whenever we see each other. we both get very "fake"

just super sweet "OMG LOOK AT THE SKIRT ITS SOO CUTE LET ME TO YOUR HAIR" highsschool annoying "fake"

its strange, I shut myself off, and kinda go with it. which is werid. cuz i'm normally laid back and pretty quiet.

but around her (and most other girls) i get loud... annoying and girly.

it must be the tits....

I know what you mean. I do the same thing to a point, (not the "acting girly" of course) :P

I think on some subconsious level people often try to "sell themselves", to try and scale up what they believe to be their posative attributes, or even contrive attributes that they wish they had. It's a weird phenomenon that affects EVERYBODY on one level or another. Maybe not fake, more like "social polishing"

I think you have it right, Your constantly trying to accentuate your best attributes. over emphasize on cretin points. Unfortunately it gets annoying. I sit in my head saying "ok stop, be calm, be normal." then she speaks and it all High pitched girly gibber.

The more pressure you put on yourself to impress the more "fake" you will be. That's why you are only truly "real" around the people that you know are your friends that you feel 100% comfortable around and you are able to truly be yourself. This is one of the main reasons that I find that the best relationships come from friendships, because that person TRULY knows you, and let's face it, if you are "with" somone, things are more likely to work out if you know that you only have to be yourself, and nothing more.

Tho we use to make out and fool around a bit. I think we both have secret regrets about not taking our realtionship to the other level.

It's not being fake!! It's the excitement of finally being able to hang out with your girls!!
