Smashing Pumpkins: Title Track Of New CD Is Target Exclusive - Consumerist

I've been a Pumpkins fan for 13 years. This ROYALLY pisses me off. I have zero intention of buying 2 different CDs just for a one track difference. Hell...As militant a fan as I am, after hearing this BS, I have zero intention of buying it at all. Plus, if the CDs are exclusive to those retailers, what happens to those of us fans that live outside the US that actually WOULD buy the CD to support our favorite band? We get shafted?!

For the first time in my life, I'm saying a big fat FUCK YOU to Billy Corgan. >=(

It's not like it'll be THAT DIFFICULT to get your hands on that track anyways. Buy your CD and then fully justify stealing the exclusive track from the net.

I don't see what the big deal is really. This is hardly the first time that the whole 'exclusive track at this retailer only' thing has been done.

On top of that.... is it really any different than a DVD being released and then 6 months later after you've already bought it once the new super-fucking-spectacular-amazing EXTENDORAMA WITH EXTRA NUDITY EDITION!!! comes out.

This reminds me of when magazine's come out with 2 issues of exactly the same issue, but theres 2 different 'collectors' covers. So they expect you to buy the same mag twice just to get the special covers. Ive actually seem some Car mags do it with 3 covers for the same issue.

Have you been in a coma for the passed 7 years Lisa? The last time I bought a CD was maybe in 2000. Teach Billy a lesson and get the album for free on the net.

PS: I love Darcy, and believe she quit the band to live with her horses on a ranch. Ill never forget their interview on Much for the 'Adore' album. They would always show Darcy rolling her eyes when ever Billy talked.

When did I say I was arguing that point? They lasted longer than they should have, truth be told, after Siamese Dream when he did the instrumentation himself for the most part.

FYI though, supposedly the reason D'arcy left was because they let Chamberlain back into the band (after he was kicked out in July 96 for being a junkie), and apparently she wasn't too impressed with that.

My whole point of this post is just that Billy Corgan for the most part has always given his fans what they wanted. I know I can go and download the songs I don't get, but it's the principle of the thing, you know?

No I don't... any way you slice it you'll be able to get your hands on what you want. If you really want that exclusive edition just take a look on ebay after release and you'll find it.

It really boils down to a 'what about me' thing. Why don't you write Billy and tell him how bad he's let down the entire country and just what you think of him? haha
