Anyone stepping into a club in the last two years has certainly thrown them bows to the crunk stylings of Lil Jon. A torchbearer to the hip-hop movement known as "crunk", with its signature rowdy choruses and block-rocking beats, this self-proclaimed King of Crunk, Atlanta rap icon Lil Jon has built up a formidable empire since he first hit the scene in 1997. Best known for his hyperactive, chant-along style, he's scored a long string of crossover hits, including "Bia Bia," "Get Low," and "Damn!" By the end of 2004, Lil Jon's favorite expressions "Yeaaahh?!" and "Whaat!?" became fodder for numerous comedians. Dave Chappelle's hilarious impression of the producer was becoming as popular as his Rick James impression. And Lil Jon’s not just a rapper -- Jon's production skills are in serious demand from all kinds of artists, among them Usher, who enlisted him to lace the beat for his single "Yeah", Petey Pablo, Ciara, Korn, Too Short, E 40, and The Ying Yang Twins, just to name a few. In addition to cranking out platinum hits, Lil Jon has also helped to develop new talent, including Lil Scrappy and Trillville. Prepare yourself, for this man of Crunk, will be bringing his animated personality and party tactics to our Canadian stage. For his first ever appearance in Vancouver he will be performing with his notorious group, BME Click, as well as Hosting the Main Stage all night, bringing his indescribable entertainment through and through.

Born Warren Anderson Mathis in the small mill town of LaGrange, Georgia, Bubba Sparxxx burst onto the scene in 2001 wearing overalls and driving a tractor in the video for “ugly,” the Timbaland-produced frenetic hit single from Bubba’s gold-selling debut Dark Days, Bright Nights. Wanting his fans to have a better understanding of his true background Bubba released his sophomore album, Deliverance, and it was just that: a highly introspective look at life in rural America that cut to the heart of who Bubba Sparxxx is. Produced by Timbaland, the album married country and hip-hop, calling it everything from daring to ingenious, and crowning Bubba as one of the South’s greatest lyrics. Soon after the album was released Bubba had a falling out with Interscope Records, leading Bubba to leave the label. Enter fellow well-respected southern MC, Outkast’s Big Boi, and his brand new label, Purple Ribbon Ribbon Records (distributed through Virgin Records). Big Boi certainly has shown faith – he inked the deal for Bubba Sparxxx to join the family himself and even lends his production to the album. With production by Organized Noise, Timbaland, Mr. DJ, Basement Beats, the Heatmakers and Big Boi, The Charm is Bubba’s most ambitious outing to date. With hit songs, impressive lyrical content, a new understanding of the business, and the excitement of a new label behind him, three might just be Bubba Sparxxx’s lucky number. It might just be The Charm.

These world-renown turntablists, formerly known as the X-Men, officially became the X-Ecutioners when they made the leap from battle-DJs to recording artists in their own right. Founded in 1989 with the stated intention of dethroning the reigning battle-DJs in the local hip hop DJ scene, the prestigious establishment set to become the most dominant forces in the history of the hip hop DJ. These New York natives can count themselves among a select handful of DJs (including their west coast peers the now defunct Invisibl Skratch Piklz) who spearheaded the turntablist movement, by taking the classic hip-hop techniques of mixing and cutting into a whole new realm of musical improvisation. In 2004 Roc Raida and Total Eclipse, welcomed the genre-elevating talents of turntablists DJ Boogie Blind (2000 Vestax World Champ) and DJ Precision (Beatdown World Champ 2002) as official members of the ever-evolving super DJ group. Bringing the groups current members to Roc Raida, Total Eclipse, Boogie Blind, Precision, X Men Alummi, Boogie Boy, Diamond J, DMD, Dr Butcher, Exotic E, Johnny Cash, Mista Sinista, Rob Swift and Steve D. This year at Summer Break we are lucky enough to have Roc Raida and Boogie Blind grace our stage on a special hour and a half party rockin’ DMC turntablist set. So put on your dancing shoes and prepare yourself, as these world renown DJ’s amaze us on the wheels of steel!

Donald Glaude: DJ & Producer

Confident. Exuberant. Raw. Innovative. These are just a few of the words industry insiders and fans have used to describe the talent behind one of America’s favorite house DJs, Donald Glaude. Ranked #68 on DJMag.com’s Top 100 DJs List in 2005, Donald skyrocketed to #48 this year and his genius keeps on growing. Before Donald few DJs had attempted to spin house records. Donald’s fine ear helped him give birth to a new style. After mastering his craft, Donald began DJing in various clubs around Tacoma and Seattle. Some DJs seek commercial acceptance. Donald, on the other hand, has always preferred an emotional connection with his audience. For Donald, house music is not simply a mixed bag of sound, but rather an experience that provokes the soul. Apart from his mastery on the decks, Donald is best known for his dynamic showmanship. He enjoys his music as much as his audience does. Embracing their energy, it is not uncommon to find Donald pumping his hands in the air, jumping up and down and shouting back his love to the crowd. Donald’s uncompromising style and innovation show no sign of slowing down any time soon. With the credit of 5 full-length CDs and numerous remixes under his belt, Donald has focused much of his time to production work.

www.djjelo.com - Coming Soon!

He has remixed pop stars and he has performed around the globe. He is known as 'The people's DJ' and one of the fastest beat matchers live on decks amongst Canadians. He is an Electronic Music kitchen sink that has become a trailblazing influence on the floors, the streets, in people's cars and homes. The DJ known only as Jelo is a leader in North America's electronic music movement and an innovator and ambassador to all things hard and funky in Canada. Experiencing these awe-inspired and interactive sets, regarded legendary by many, is what makes the Jelo experience different than that found with the average DJ. His style of presentation is unique and bridges the gap between audience and performer. Jelo becomes one with the audience and uses his uncanny abilities to read a floor, any floor, regardless of where he is. He exudes the authenticity of someone truly involved in a rhythmical love affair with music. Always learning and always improving, the future for Jelo is guided by an awesome natural intensity, an astonishing musical dedication and a drive to change the world- one beat at a time.

Well known amongst the Canadian scene these two house cats have each held down many notorious sets. Hirshee has been rocking the west coast for years, and now his name is being heard more and more through-out the international House-music community. In late 2006 he was signed to Hatiras’ label Blow Media Records. Since then he’s had numerous releases on the label along with remixes and original work on many others as his demand for music is starting to soar. Miss Marz has taken influences from many sources. Cutting her teeth in the West Coast's top clubs, playing everything from trance and techno to her first love, electro and house, this woman has consistently pushed the envelope with genre-defying sets and vibrant stage presence. With such positive attitudes they have both gained enormous respect within the house scene. Anyone who has heard these two play will definitely tell you this lethal combination is not to be missed!!!

George Acosta -- Official Web Site

Trance, whether you like your trance melodic and uplifting, or hard and fast, trance by any definition is here to stay. From the warehouse parties of the late 80’s to car commercials in 2001, trance has become part of the new millennium, part of our lifestyle. And all because of DJs like George Acosta. George proves every time he puts a needle on a record that "trance”, whatever the label, has changed, evolved, become a lifestyle, a culture… as well it should. With over 15 years of experience as a DJ and producer, George has helped change and evolve trance from an underground movement to massive festival experiences throughout the world. George Acosta is America’s representative in the global Trance scene. Coming up playing warehouse parties in his native Miami, he then went on to producing tracks of his own with such international hits like Planet Soul, Emotions, Taking Over Space, R U Awake and The Reaper. He knows his crowds so well because he is just as big a fan as they are of his music. Just like the thousands he plays for, George Acosta lives it. George tries to maintain a close connection to the people who come to hear him play because like them, he discovered the music as a fan first. Join George as he bangs out the hard hittin’ tracks and allow him to prove to you why he is considered a large contributor to the trance scene!

Welcome to the Official THRILLSEEKERS website...

Steve Helstrip (AKA The Thrillseekers) has been at the very forefront of the world's trance scene for over 6 years now. From his breakout hit 'Synaesthesia', through to the anthems 'Dreaming of You' and most recently 'By Your Side', he has continued to produce a powerhouse of the most emotive music going. Steve has enthralled crowds the world over with both his Thrillseekers Live and DJ sets. The Ministry, Gallery, PaSSion and Godskitchen have all born witness to his fluid mixing, unique style and kinetic, energetic performances. Whilst still closeted in Chipping Norton, Steve took it upon himself to learn the art of DJing. It was initially born purely out of a desire to see how his records worked in the mix with other tracks, and as a tool with which to improve their properties for the DJ. This quickly turned into a desire to see them, first hand, fire up a floor. Realizing how, in the ever changing world of dance music, DJ’ing was starting to go hand in hand with production, Steve began to apply even more energy to perfecting the skill. Steve was always one for quality over quantity and whilst other trance producers belted out one sound-a-like track after another, he focused on creating a catalogue he would still be happy with in 20 years time. With this said it’s plain to see that The Thrillseekers are a highly anticipated contributor to the hype of Summer Break!

DJ Myshell -Official website DJ Myshell: Electronic Music Producer and Remixer

Trained in Acutonics and Sound Therapy, Myshell's music defies the boundaries set by electronic music genres. Her productions fuse a vast array of influences. Her live electronic act incorporates elements of trance, house, breaks, funk, rock and even hip-hop. Myshell’s spontaneous sets involve remixes on the fly with loops layered and arranged in real time. No two shows are alike. Myshell has opened for some of dance music's biggest names such as Matt Darey, Thomas Penton, Donald Glaude, Doc Martin, and Armin Van Buuren. Her live mix CD, Myshell Nukina Live, reached #154 on the Canadian Independent Radio Charts in 2004 as well as garnering critical praise from the likes of Jesse Saunders, "originator" of house music, and Craig Anderton, editor of EQ magazine. It can be easily said that DJ Myshell is definitely a name to watch for, this Scarlett of Music is one of Canada’s top up and coming Canadian Producer and undeniably a force to be reckoned with!

DJ O/S 2

WEMF 2007 - World Electronic Music Festival

As one of originators of the Canadian scene, DJ OS/2 has also been instrumental to its longevity. The man behind Destiny Productions and the World Electronic Music Festival (WEMF) has been working the decks across the globe for the past 13 years. With a sound that can best be described as bangin' progressive trance, he has electrified dance floors and energized the masses wherever he drops in. Best known to West Coast party people for his legendary sunrise sets each year at Magic Mountain, this Canadian icon once again suits up for a journey into the wild BC party wilderness!
