are you kidding me, the ammo I have against your point is gross..

dude we (as a scene) have been SPOILED with a venue such as the Plaza. I mean, a) theater room w/ seats and dark 100% of the time b) large ass main room, siick ass open view in the morning c) smaller (but well sized) breaks room d) heart of downtown Vancouver, very skytrain accessible e) well I don't need to explain anymore.

you think they have such a venue in every city? haha.. a 10,000+ FARM is a lux venue in Calgary not to mention across Canada..

abby tradex would be interesting to see, it would be tough to sway the people running our city.

i wouldnt call it "spoiled" just lucky........you make it sound like our scene is a bunch of little rich brats that wine when they dont get what they want

we are/where lucky to have plaza, but the scene will prevale

but saying chilliwack is the next best thing is funny cuz there is soo many mixed emotion about that place, and there is way better.....for instance, PC, or any of the other venues that have been metioned

but with that said, if you go out of counrty there are some dope venues for parties, ive never been but im sure ibiza has some places 10x better then plaza, and i heard the states have some super hot spots

cheeseburger is on a distinguished road
The abbotsford tradex will never happen.

The ownership of the building has recently changed within the last 14 months. The city of Abbotsford would NOT approve of such an event.

A few concerts have been attempted and failed with flying colours.

The venue itself is amazing. The council will never approve.

The casino fiasco.. and a recent bylaw has been passed to end all booze sales at 1230 CITY WIDE. The bible belt is fighting back.. what a joke.

good luck gettin a warehouzer

I'm all for it as a new venue...Cold Shmold! I had to wait 45 minutes before getting in but it was worth it. Once inside it wasnt cold at all, and I had the best time. I'd drive out there any day.

As far as utalizing Heritage park in the summer is because there is acres of land out back of the venue to do a daytime event than roll the night time over to the inside. It'd be sick.

i thought it was a sick venue, but mainstage were the dirt was...umm....i dont like dancing in horse manure kat...unless ure into that type thing
its got potential...hehe member folks...spooky...only half of the warehouse was used...were the 3 stages were...there was a huge giant blocked off back...imageine that open....the massive size of that puppy can match the size of euro parties
but its soo far...i dont care tho.ill have a car soong enough
PARTY ON!!!

..and to a point it is. Last summer proved to be one of the worst in recent memory. Example RN; this party had it all.. BUT ticket sales. Sometimes it seems even when everything is given on a silver plate, it's still throw it across the room and followed by a week or two of pouting. Now granted, my wording could have been better picked. Fortunate comes to mind. Still, I believe my point stands that (as a scene) we will need to adapt to the "no name" band venues for our massives, rather then our so long enjoyed "quality" band venue.

yes it was cold..very cold
and yes the stages were a little close together
but besides that i thougth the venue was great.
especially if they open up the rest of the place behind where the stages were last time.
For people saying 'oh no its not as good as the plaza' 'the plaza had carpet not cement' 'the plaza had this and this doesnt blah blah blah.. OH WELL!! the plaza was a very nice place..but if u look around at other venues in other areas, they arent all that fancy, most are just in big warehouses..basially as somebody else said somewhere in this post.
and well if the building gets to cold for u, which at some point every building seems to do near the very end of the party or when u walk outside..then put on a sweater! (yeah i know u'd rather not but sometimes u just gottta deal with stuff. theres gonna be pros and cons for every venue)

chillowack heritige park would be a great place for summer-time raves, but i think that the main question here should be: what venues will be good to hold raves during winter?

Why would you want to party inside during the summer?
