HONOLULU (AP) - A strong earthquake shook Hawaii early Sunday, jolting residents out of bed and causing a landslide that blocked a major highway. Ceilings crashed at a hospital, and aftershocks kept the state on edge. The state Civil Defense had unconfirmed reports of injuries, but communication problems prevented more definite reports. Gov. Linda Lingle issued a disaster declaration for the entire state, saying there had been damage to buildings and roads. There were no reports of fatalities. The quake hit at 7:07 a.m. local time, 10 miles north-northwest of Kailua Kona, a town on the west coast of Hawaii Island, also known as the Big Island, said Don Blakeman, a geophysicist at the National Earthquake Information Center, part of the U.S. Geological Survey. Seattle Review
Hey guys! So here is my review:
Got to Vancouver around 4pm and roamed around the streets and chilled out in the hotel room until the show was set to start. My boy and I got in line at 930pm and Richards wasn't even open! There wasn't even a line! So we were like, ok and just stood there and actually ran into some other Seattle peeps. Saw Damien and Ill-esha and some others who were just as confused as I was when they saw Richards wasn't open. So anyway, we roamed around Granville for another hour or so and got inside without ANY hassle, thank heavens :) Got inside and I have to say, Richards is a REALLY nice club. Compared to some clubs here in Seattle, it's bigger, nice set up, and they acutally had bathrooms that didn't break within an hour. So anyway, Ill-esha and her tag team partner warmed up the crowd nicely. I truely enjoyed the different flavor :) So Swamp literally sucked balls!! He was late getting started, he played SHIT for tracks and he wasn't even into the crowd AT ALL!!! He kept going to the back of the stage to talk to some chick, which was getting rather annoying REALLY quick. Anyway, I just sat and TRIED to groove to Swamp whenever there was a promising beat, but unfortunately there weren't that many. Oveall, Swamp played like crap. Dieselboy!!! First off, I NEVER knew how short he was!! I am 4'11 and when I saw him standing outside the club, he was MAYBE 5'5 :D I personally thought that Damien didn't drop it has hard as he could have. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed his set alot but it just felt like something was missing/lacking from his set. He definately played some oldies and played some nice dark n juicy beats, but overall he did WAY better than Swamp. Overall, I had such a GREAT night! It was so so nice to be in strange land, in a club I have never been before, and being around spanking new people. The vibe was AWEOME!! The people were AWESOME!!! Something that is definately missing here in Seattle lately. The crowd was rocking for sure! Everyone was there to dance and boy did everyone dance! I went upstairs for a few minutes and the dancefloor was packed and every head in the club was bopping around :D Shout outs to Alla (who I ran into in the girls bathroom of all places), Ill-esha, and there were some other peeps that came up to me and was like 'You're that girl from Seattle, right?' Thanks so much for introducing yourselves!! You guys rock solid! Thanks Vancouver for a REALLY GREAT time! It was the mini vacation that my boy and I needed and we cannot wait to go back.
