awesome night.
Jay C blew me away in the second room. Too bad all the djs in there got cut short. I think at one point during scotty's set he was mooning the dancefloor. The gorgomesh was in full effect after never seen so many beautiful chicks. |

 After many weeks of planning and organizing it was nice to finally see the event go off. The Union team worked its way through several snags which eventually lead us into a bigger better venue. Overall, I was very happy with the turnout and the flow of the entire evening. The night started off very smooth with Danny playing some seriously sick progressive trance which really set the mood for the room. In the meantime Akeel was laying down some serious cuts and beats in the breaks room. The Canucks game was about our only domestic concern as we knew it would be keeping some people glued on their couches. Thankfully enough we had a bar full of eager staff who also wanted to keep dibs on the score. With a bit of wiring and channel surfing we had the game up on the big screen in just a few short minutes. The Nucks battled the Flames through 3 rigorous OT periods which resulted in a win and much happier drinking crowd. The game played up on the big screen and for the first hour the club was transformed into a giant pub. I've never watched a game with loud trance pounding in the background surrounded by a wall of curious onlookers. It totally fit the pace of a 4 on 4 sudden death shootout. The club looked great, the sound and lighting was top notch and all the dj's rocked the entire club. Gareth Emery delivered one of the most original uplifting sets I've ever listened to. His dedication and love for the game is easily witnessed every time he gets on the decks. I wish this guy a shiny future and I'm happy to be a part of showcasing his talent so early into his career. The hockey game turned out to ruin my chances of getting to this, as I had to head to one of my roommates parties right after that and couldn't get out of there until around 2am. Not at all surprised that this went so well, and want to give HUGE props to everyone involved at Union for throwing such an excellent event. If this is the direction that the trance scene in this city is going then I LIKE IT!

Seriously when are they going to finish renovating that place... It's been 3/4 complete for over a year now. My only complaint from Sat night were the washrooms. They closed the ones at YukYuks and sent us back to use the ones at the Cave, only to find that the regular womens washroom there was closed too. We were redirected over to these other washrooms in the back that looked like a partial storage room, and they were disgusting.. Riverside quality. lol |

Great party lots and lots of fun. Highlight of the night seeing half the people on this thread cutting it up on the dance in the dnb room to scortty oh. Met lots of fnk'ers all very nice people, hope to meet more of u soon. special shout out too Cheebus 420-the dooby snacks were tasty. Erica-i go all night and the sun run sucked! Dj Serotonin(sp)-thanks for the hook up Lex&Miles-Hope to see u guys soon
ps. me and cheebus set up the sun run the next day after GTR..and our candy never let us rest in between lol FUCKED UP. we both showed up wearing our party clothing haha we froze our ballz off. |

Awesome music in both rooms although I got the impression a lot of people didn't even know about the side room. The cave itself stills sucks as always, but doesn't matter if the music is sweet. I must be blind (or just hi) because I never seem to notice anyone who is from this site...need to actually meet some of you I guess :P

Great turn out! Shouts to the UNION & FNK crew on a excellent job! Interesting night with a lot of *interesting* stories... they've been mostly summed up already, so no need to repeat them.
Hope everyone had a great time, and it was nice to meet some new FNK peeps throughout the evening. (Damn it was so cold at that door... brrrr!) Tune in for future UNION & FNK events |
