When a DJ is booked or during the booking/negotiationg phase, would they discuss what genre he/she would be playing or is that up to the DJ?

Huge line-up !
It's a really nice line-up but i won't be there though..
For trance lovers it's not the place to go IMO ..
I love picotto on some of his albums but live it's not quite like that..
I saw Picotto a bit more than a year ago hoping he'd play his classics and i was really disapointed.. I'd even say it was one of the worst set i ever heard..
He played some really tasteless hard-tech for 3 hours, no highs, no lifts, no nothing, just plain music for 3 hours..
Anyway this is just my taste, for tech lovers it's the perfect party !

Whoever twisted brings i know it's gonna be better for trance lovers..

Well lets take Mauro Picotto for example...
First time in van supposedly, AND he rarely so ever plays raves... so theres bound to be his classics to get the crowd of 5000 roaring, thats enough trance there for the night... but ive got a big hunch hell be playing prime time... and knowing the way Soild works with the line up, I think picotto wont be disappointed to see some Hardhouse, Hard Dance, Hardtrance, and his ever soo infamous HARDtech-no on the scene.
Note though, Solid is aiming for a European styled feel...the stadiumish look and all... so that lovely dovey trance will just not do it for a Solid Halloween. Its time to party and get rowdy...not mellow out and sleep!! With that said... PARTY ON!!!!

ps... The decorations will be just plain out trippy, hehehe if all goes well we'll have ghosts haunting the bleachers... and all.

Nothing really too impressive here, its good but I've seen every one of those headliners, for me its kind of disappointing, for the exception of Mirka, Vlado, and Rank 1. Nice effort tho.

What was all this hype about all these extra headliners to be added last week??? In the second room there was only an MC added and one of the breaks djs taken away from the lineup...


I think the only addition to the lineup was MaurroPicotto?

meh... As much as id like to see Deekline and Craze, the breaks headliner Spooky has lined up will knock peoples socks off!!

It would be appreciated if the djs who are booked for Spooky to stay out the thread if they have nothing better to say unless you want us promoting on the SPOOKY thread too. hmm... we don't need bias views here.

ps: we didn't take out any breaks djs from our previous announcement. We added MC ARMANNI Reign plus Deekline + SoulKid & Biscuit.

Mauro Picotto was never confirmed for IMF2003. He was put on the preflyer b/c it was in motion that we were going to book him and the preflyer had "unconfirmed" on the lineup.

PH1 was the first to bring Mauro Picotto to Vancouver, and yes, he plays techno and rarely plays raves because he hates to be categorized in anything related to trance and hard house




I'm definitely looking forward to seeing him again. His sets in 2004 have been amazing and have been tamer... usually going slow (130bpm) and covering depe techno, techhouse, and tribal
