I'm really impressed with how you've come along! We'll throw down at a party soon, I promise!

Hiya

I'll be headlining one of the stages at Apex, playing all the old bomb shit from 99-02, so bring your party boots! I'll be giving all the old Nucleuz, Tidy, Tripoli tunes a good rinsing! I'm hoping to have at least 2 hours, because i have DAYS of mental hardhouse to drop. IMO, the launch (love it or hate it) is probably single-handedly responsible for getting more people into partying than any other song. Everybody trashes it, but everytime I play it, people go off. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that the scene in Vancouver was at its' high-water mark right around when that song was getting played non-stop. It takes people back to that time, so in essence, the reaction is more about the memories that it conjures up than the actual song itself (although it IS classic!)

you just wanted to use the term high water mark because you watched Fear and Loathing recently didn't you!

oh and you could play Tidy all day long and i'd be happy every day.

Like I said, CLASSIC tune! It's just fun-as-hell to drop! I went through all my records when I started spinning again and couldn't believe how many gems I had! I could play a weekly night for 2 years and not play the same song twice! Thinking about it, i've spent waaaaay too much on vinyl LOL. I sold ALL of my speed garage, so I've bought probably 110-120 Speed Garage tunes in the last month. It's made quite the dent on my credit card ;)

Actually, my linking of that word to the Vancouver scene comes from when Azim and I (well, mostly zimm, LOL) threw E5 at riverside. I was looking out at the 2000+ crowd when Mike Downey was playing and thought "this is it, it'll never get better than this. This is the high-watermark of the scene here". It was a fleeting moment, but I'm just happy I was lucky enough to have it; like a micro-epiphany. Long answer for a short question, but watching F&L reminds me of that night. =)

I hadn't seen you post your line-up anywhere so I didn't want to announce it and let the cat out of the bag, LOL! I'm actually on vacation in Hawaii till the 5th, so my plane gets in at 10pm, and i drive home, grab my records and head out to popkum. Gonna be a killer night! Pat, i might just throw in Voyager just to make you happy!
