It IS a reason, and a main one at that.
Of course, you also have to factor in the type of person who responds with violence, as not everyone does. So it's less of an "excuse" as it is a factor.

Of course bullying isnt a plausible single reason to do it, but im sure it was a factor, then again, the investigation is still ongoing, and im sure more details will be revealed to help explain the story and circumstances that led to this event. This incident reminded me of the Columbine massacre, so I looked it up and found some interesting things.

What always happens with these issues is that there is no public awareness of the big picture, because these things continue to happen it is not a personal problem (whatever his motives, family values, ethnicity, race, job, education, financial situation, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, etc).
Yes bullying was most definitely a factor but you also need to look at why bullies exist, where do they come from, etc.
When things like this happen on more than one occasion they become a public issue and society is at fault here, not bullies or games. Soon enough there will be a new rapper or some new sick form of entertainment that will get blamed for violent behaviour or death at a mass scale.
Look to the past and see how many civilizations have collapsed, who says this won't happen to us as well?

I had to quote myself because either nobody bothered to read my post or bullying is all the media is feeding the world right now (don't watch tv so I wouldn't know, then again do you believe everything you hear?).
I also googled bullying to find some synonyms that way we can debate on whether it was wheedle, cajole, palaver, blarney or just plain bullying. I personally like cajole because it sounds like pendejo.

To be honest I dont really know if it's fair to say taht bullying is 'worse' these days. The things my parents have told me, grand parents, and old movies... well I think in some ways it was worse back then becuase it was shamful to sek help. Now where supose to be all out in the open and I think allot of kids now seek attention and sympathy.

I was picked on, teased, and bullied... but hey its made me stronger. As someone who has worked with kids for over 10 years, sometimes I let it slide. Kids need to learn how to deal with things on their own. I'm just their to help guid them how to do it APPROPRIATLY.
